Shift tip??
So from what I can recall I've minishifted once (could be more, I have an amnesia disorder) so while I'm more of an account looking for advice rather than giving it, I've seen a couple people seem to struggle with this so here.
What to do about background sounds while trying to shift.
They're annoying, I know. I was experiencing shifting symptoms yesterday while trying to, when my roommate was suddenly and abruptly very loud in the hallway and I tweaked out a little. (They can do what they want, it was just bad timing). There were also voices and vehicles outside despite the sounds of the oncoming storm.
Then as I heard thunder brewing, I realised, I can use these outside sounds to my advantage.
Voices in the house? That's somebody outside my DR window having a conversation (man, what are they doing so close to my room?). Kids playing in the street? Exactly that, just in a different setting. Random sounds happening in the house? - well, that depends on your DR - if you live with somebody, you can think to yourself wow, whatever they're up to is making a lot of noise. I wonder if they'll come to my room and say hi.
Use these sounds to your advantage.
Depending on where you go in your DR, realistically it may not be dead silent. Outside sounds can be irritating until they're used in your favour.
