Current surveillance confirms that an object currently being readied for display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City exhibits certain characteristics consistent with exposure to atmospheric energy.  Remote Geiger counter measurements of both α and β radiation levels reveal a somewhat consistent presentation of 22 CPM, far below prescribed safety limits but within the target range identified as indicative of Tesseract exposure.

As of now, the object’s security is paramount.  While the Metropolitan Museum is known for its protection of its artifacts, the unique value of this object may increase the probability of its theft by a third party.  S.H.I.E.L.D. Operatives have identified several interested parties who may very be interested in obtaining the object for reasons that do no impact the success of Project Ouroboros; however, it is in the Agency’s best interest that until such time as the object can be more closely examined at a clandestine facility, it remain secure, and for now it is believed that the best course of action is to simply continue round - the - clock surveillance.
