The fact that only Coulson is smiling because actually he's dying on the insideššš
Iāll be honest, first watch I was terrified during the wedding scene waiting for the āshocking twistā at the end of the episode and when it turned out to be that Deke is FS grandkid I was like āThank God, I already knew that.ā
Iāve been with this show since day one. Iāve experienced the crappy parts and the amazing parts and loved it through everything. Iāve been disappointed and inspired. Iāve laughed and Iāve cried. Iāve met so many amazing, talented, kind people in this fandom. THIS IS MY SHOW. THIS IS MY PLACE. Thank you to all the people who work so hard to make the show and also those who work to keep the fandom alive and prop each other up. IāM SO EMOTIONAL RIGHT NOW. WE MADE IT TO A GLORIOUS 100 EPISODES AND IāM SO IN AWE OF WHAT THEYāVE BUILT AND WHAT WEāVE BUILT TOGETHER. I love you, AoS friends. <3

āŖevery agents of shield fan right now trying to figure out what the big event is thatās gonna ādestroyā the dedicated fans
The 100th episode of ABCās Marvelās Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is āThe Real Dealā ā in both its title and according to the cast and creatives who were on hand for the recent party celebratiā¦
The official synopsis for the episode (airing this Friday at 9/8c) tells us, āCoulson finally reveals the mysterious deal he made with Ghost Rider, which will impact everyone on the S.H.I.E.L.D. team.ā And as TVLine spoke to those on the red carpet, āCoulson,ā āGhost Riderā and āimpact everyoneā were recurring themes.
In crafting the 100th hour, co-showrunner Jed Whedon said, āOur goal was to create something that would not only be a reward for the fans who have been with us the whole time, but also something that would change the game moving forward ā and we think we achieved that. Weāre pretty proud of the episode.ā Added co-showrunner Maurisa Tancharoen, āItās a little bit of a game changerā¦. Definitely an emotional game changer.ā
Marvel TV chief Jeph Loeb meanwhile put it this way: āIt in many ways resets the table, but in many ways it also finishes up some stories that perhaps [viewers] didnāt even know we havenāt revealed. Itās sort of one turnover after another, a great game of cards.ā
S.H.I.E.L.D. frontman Clark Gregg echoed the sentiment that there is resolution that fans perhaps donāt even know to expect, saying, āItās an episode where a lot of things that have been being built toward ā some of them in ways you didnāt even really realize ā really come to a head and pay off in ways that change things going forward. Some of those things have building for seasons, and some have been building since the pilot.ā
But enough with the admittedly titillating vagaries. What about tangible plot details? āWeāre going to find out a lot more about whatās going on with Coulson and what his secret is,ā Gregg said, alluding to the almost alien-looking rash spreading across Coulsonās chest ā which is perhaps the cause of his death that future Yo-Yo warned her other self about. As Coulsonās situation comes to light, āHeās not prepared for how upset people are with him for holding on to this secret,ā Gregg said.
āSome things will not be the same going forward,ā the actor reiterated, stoking the āgame changerā fire. āBut to me, it felt like a very moving and satisfying episode for the longtime fans.ā
Elizabeth Henstridge, who plays Simmons, also zeroed in on loyal viewers getting a special pleasure from the episode. āThere are so many, just gorgeous Easter eggs,ā she effused. āIf youāre not as familiar with the show, youāre still going to enjoy it, but really this is a āthank youā to the people that have stuck with us all the way to 100. There are some very special moments that we hope the fans are going to really enjoy.ā
Among very special potential guest stars, itās been reported that both Hive and Lash ā though long dead ā will be seen in Episode 100. Speaking with TVLine at the party, Brett Dalton was Marvel-ously mum on reprising his role as the former, instead only saying, āIām very happy to know that Hive still has a presence in the show, even if you donāt see him week to week.ā
As for what the future holds for Marvelās Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. beyond this milestone hour, Natalia Cordova-Buckley (who plays Yo-Yo) made one thing crystal clear: the second storyline pod of Season 5 āis going to be be very, very different.ā (With reporting by Scott Huver)
I just cannot believe after all these years... after all we've been put through, our science babies are happily married.
