dagur's dragon being a gronckle named shattermaster is the funniest thing ever. imagine a tiny toy poodle named killer deathcrusher
rewatching rtte rn and i LOVE Dagur's dragon Shattermaster! I was never fond of the recolors the shows did of the original five dragons, such as the solid neon color gronkles, but in his case I think it works. Giving Dagur a type of dragon that is known for being big ol' teddy bears at heart, and one that lives up to that reputation, was exactly what his arc needed. I also like that Shattermaster got his own characterization, such as being overenthusiastic and enjoying fights, that he was such a ball of energy and was one of the few dragons who kept the slit pupils even after being trained. He shared character traits with Meatlug, but presented them in a different way that made him a perfect match for his Berserker partner-in-crime. At the episode I most recently rewatched, I'm pretty sure Shattermaster gets written out of the show after this. I remember the triple strike being Dagur and Mala's dragon at some point, and I love that dragon and he features in one of my favorite episodes of the show, but I'm really going to miss the bright green gronkle.

A soft trill and the heavy footfalls of something roughly the size of a horse pounded towards the small girl hidden in the grass. bright red feathers splattered across an otherwise dull pelt soon burst from the grass. carefully stepping around the child investigating a moment, before jaws closed surprisingly gently on the scruff of Ina’s shirt. Seems she was being taken by yet another broody creature, darting off through the grass again with it’s new found ‘baby’ to be gifted to a purple feathered female happily nested in what looked like a rustic stable.

Though, tbh, I might have to say Shattermaster, just because that was Dagur's first dragon. I'm glad Shattermaster was at his wedding.
I am watching “Searching for Oswald ... and Chicken" and Dagur is now riding the dragon that he rescue in “Blindsided”. What happen to Shattermaster? He loved Shattermaster, those two had such a bond! I mean I guess it is interesting to see him with the new dragon (but I hardly see them bond, it is more like he was just riding the dragon around) I am so confused. Did I miss something? Did he no longer like Shattermaster or something? Or was Shattermaster not a good enough dragon?
