Had a random burst of energy for the past two days and finally started writing this fic I’ve been thinking about for a while. Posting the summary here while I chug a Bloom and work on the first chapter on my lunch breaks for AO3 and here on my tumblr for anyone to read. I’m going for a post campaign slow-burn angst and fluff Coalecroux, focusing on Kremy’s past and how he feels about the Krew. I also wanted to explore a bit of his life before Gideon by him facing his past by meeting an old childhood friend. (There will be jealousy and pining and lots of miscommunication between the two “ironic” husbands <3) Hope you enjoy it, and feel free to share any ideas or thoughts on it! Constructive criticism is also appreciated!

Kremy Lecroux childhood consisted of on his meemaw’s gumbo, jazz, and the kind of experiences and lessons in life that don’t leave you with clean hands. His mother wanted him to be respectable and confident in his talents, she struggled in building her son a good life as a single mother and seamstress. His grandmother explained to him how the world really worked outside the swamps, showing Kremy his roots and how he can get what he wants with enough hard and dirty work.

Growing up poor in the Whipperwallow swamps, Kremy always wanted more. Better clothes, better luck, he wished on many stars for a life far away from mud, blues, and empty pockets. So he left home for Agwé with nothing but a talent for cooking, a sharp sense of style, and ambition strong enough to drag him somewhere better.

Somewhere along the way he met Gideon Coal. He became his best business associate, his right-hand man, and possibly something a little more complicated than either of them cares to admit. Then came the rest of the Krew: Frost, Gricko, Hootsie Twig, and Torbek. Having gone through a mess of schemes, adventures and questionable plans, having paid off a hundred-thousand gold debt together.

Now the Krew temporarily stay in Twig’s home, wondering what comes next. Another carnival? A new scummy business entirely? Kremy would never say aloud, but somewhere deep in his dark soul—(Baron below help him) the Krew over the years started to feel a lot like family. But he’d rather have the Baron take his soul now then admit that. Then a letter arrives. An invitation to an old friend’s wedding, calling Kremy back to the Whipperwallow swamp he hasn’t seen in years.
