Author's Note: This is part of the Brain Itch Series. Where the fics are very broken and have no start or end but stories that I just wanted out of my system.

It was late and you were already asleep. Everything was so quiet, it was almost eerie, so when the bell rang, followed by a quick succession of knocks, all sorts of alarm bells went off in your head. 

Looking through the peephole, you were shocked to say the least. When you opened the door, an extremely dishevelled ShangChi stood at your door. 

“I’m sorry. I didn’t know where else to go-” His voice was a hoarse whisper, his eyes redrimmed as he pushed himself into your home and hugged you as if you were the only thing anchoring him to right now . 

Instinctively, your arms wrapped around him, rubbing his back. The fraction of comfort broke him completely. 

“Are you o-” You tried asked but his held onto you tighter. 

“ Please -” He cried into your shoulder, “Let me just hold you.” 

He didn’t want to talk about it. About any of it. How he’d spent running from his name, how he’d spent years hating his father, how he’d left his sister behind and how all of that was a fucked up mess because his sister had taken over his father’s legacy and his father was gone too.
