Anyway, the other day, he said to me, "By the way, I just wanted to apologize for letting your mother endanger you at 5 years old."

"...What?"

"At SeaWorld."

Backstory: When our family went on our first proper summer vacation in 1999, we went to San Antonio. My mother very emphatically insisted that I would make a great child volunteer during the orca show, so, long story short, I have a very distinct memory of standing on the platform and tossing dead fish out of a bucket into Shamoo's mouth. Obviously, since then, this memory has... acquired a different lens... but it also is still one of the coolest things I've ever done-- tossing dead fish into the gaping jaws of one of the ocean's most dangerous predators, made even more dangerous by captivity. Yeah...

"I mean, I don't really think I was in that much danger... He was in the water, and I was standing above the pool, so..."

"No, I mean when they had him up on the ledge and you got to pet him."

I was cuddling with this while watching TWD because of Shiva and Carol. I lost 1 favorite on that show and yes it's Shamoo
