Two strangers meet in lands stranger still. Shakra meets Hornet, Daughter of Beasts, in a ramshackle waypoint in the underbelly of a haunted kingdom. They keep meeting. They discuss what it means to live through the end of a world, and what it means to end a world. Ultimately, this changes nothing.

Today: Hornet and Shakra from Hollow Knight: Silksong

I love Silksong, and I adore Shakra. After Hollow Knight, I thought I'd never see a merchant so adorable as Cornifer and a sound cue so sweet like his hum.

Well. Hold my beer, Shakra said, and started singing. I love her, I love her song, I love her quest (I did NOT cry, I had something in my eye!), and her fight was among the hardest in the game because girl just jumps off screen, but it was a ton of fun.

And I obviously think that Hornet loves her, too. Imagine how she must feel on her way through this haunted kingdom (yet another one, she thinks), and what it must be worth to hear her delicate song after stumbling through yet another hellhole. I remember trying desperately to climb up the path in Bilewater where you can see Shakra's rings stuck in the wall, but I didn't have the skill required to get up. The longing!

On the other hand, I think it might mean a lot to Shakra that Hornet has been there when she finds her master. She has travelled so far, and with the child-weilding needle, there's somebody who's a stranger to these lands, too. A traveller. A stranger to this land, but dedicate to save something in it.

I think they'd be happy together. And maybe have some sparring fights that end up in kissing sessions.
