This is how I feel about sooooo many shows. Yes I love watching it, but I hardly look up anything about it because I just know I’m going to run into hate, pointless arguments. If I come across a pretty gifset, I’ll reblog it but that’s it.
Oh my god yes! It's happened for so many shows with me over the past one or two years. Mostly a certain three. And don't get me wrong, I love seeing fanart/fiction/meta/etc. for it, when it's done well (e.g. The Least of All Possible Mistakes is fantastic, Come See by definewisdom is another bloody brilliant fanfic that is so well written)
But it's the fandoms that I strongly dislike. It's all the infighting, it's the holier-than-thou attitude. It's this taking certain characteristics that have real world implications and twisting them irresponsibly and offensively then getting offended themselves when people call them out on it.
I don't know I'm just tired of people being deliberately obtuse and choosing to ignore issues when they could be working towards a solution.
