I'm planning to finalize my Arc Two Outline today, if there is a specific interaction you want to see in this Arc then make sure to let me know in this post!
So I was originally gonna have like all the monkey demons pretty welcoming to their new queen. (Who would disagree with their kings am I right?)
But I had a small idea, what if Reader showing up sparked an idea in a wicked monkey demon or demoness. The thought of seducing the kings to become the queen themselves?
Maybe they would attempt to push Reader away from the duo, get her thinking they don't actually want her and just want a breeder? Or something.
Reader being from another world does mess up Macaque’s hearing around her (For now, maybe haven't decided if that part will stay or not)
Should I have a wicked monkey demon/ess attempt to steal the throne?
The Cursed Warlords Arc Two - Chapter #Five - Flower Fruit Mountain
Wukong and Macaque attempt to make you feel comfortable on their island…
The island was in a riot, no one knew how to react. Humans were forbidden to enter the island, the kings hated them and as such banned them from entering the land unless they were dead. Any living human that entered the island was met with death before they were turned into a meal for the demons of the island.
So when the Shadow King Macaque returned home with a mortal human woman and demanded her to be healed, they had no idea what to do. Many wanted to gossip but the few who did faced punishment for speaking against the kings. Some thought that something was going on between Wukong and Macaque but that was quickly proven wrong when Wukong returned, running straight to the infirmary and checking on the woman.
It had been almost a day since and no one knew what to do or how to react. They didn’t know what they wanted from you or why. And neither had talked with their friends, neither the generals or the marshals.
>>>
Wukong bounced on his feet as he excitedly dashed back into the stone palace, his army barely on the shores as he bolted straight for his chambers. He passed many other monkeys all confused and speaking quietly to each other. He knew what it was about but didn’t really care.
His mate made a spectacle of bringing you to get healed, good. Now his people will know not to mess with his sweet darling. He looked into the room and his eyes widened with excitement and glee at the sight of you safe and sound in his nest. You looked so cute and comfy wrapped up in a thick blanket.
He was greeted by Macaque was sat to the side in the nest, watching over you carefully as he read a thick book. Wukong didn’t care about the book all he cared about was that his two favorite people, the most important people in the world were safe and sound in his nest where he planned to keep them safe and sound.
Macaque hummed when Wukong snuggled into his side, kisses peppered his cheek. The Monkey King was excited, and joyful more so than he had been in years. No amount of war, of blood and of gold could bring that kind of joy to his face. The last time he had seen that kind of smile was back when they were both cursed, back when you were there with them trying to keep them safe.
You didn’t have to worry about that anymore though, not when they were no longer cursed. Now that they were normal, now that you were here safe on their island they had every intention of being the ones to keep you safe instead.
“We won’t lose you again, we promise.” Two monkey tails partially wrapped around you as Wukong settled himself on the other side of you, gold and white curled around you.
Your injuries were bandaged and the doctor was gone. Macaque had brought you back into their chambers after you were mostly healed, while the injury could reopen if they weren’t careful, you were safe to be moved gently. So there was no need for glamours of any kind.
The knock on the room door was unexpected and based solely on the nervousness and how quiet it was it was a certain young monkey demon. Baozhai entered when he heard Wukong call for him to enter, the young demon’s ears were pressed flat against his head and his face was ever so slightly red in nervousness and anxiety.
“Hello uncle,” He muttered, his tail slightly curled around his leg as he attempted to make himself look smaller.
“What is it?” Macaque asked calmly, his eyes glancing up at the boy before setting his book down.
Baozhai wasn’t sure how to respond at first so he fiddled with his fingers before responding, “I- I wanted to ask if she is doing okay?”
Wukong being more than excited about the day quickly exclaimed, “Of course she is! A mere simple-minded demon wouldn’t be able to take her away so fast! Especially not after we heard that she was here in the first place. Had I known it was her you were speaking of earlier…” He thought about his words, damn if he had known you were the one who his nephew was trying to protect he would have personally escorted you out of the village the day before. He would have brought you home immediately and not bothered with the village at all. Or maybe he would have tried to introduce himself and get you to come with him calmly. So many things could have happened differently.
“So… Can I see her? I mean she’s probably shaken after what happened,” Baozhai muttered while twisting his fingers together unsure of how to respond.
“Hmm… It’s best you wait until she wakes up, maybe then you can. After we speak with her of course,” Wukong responded, bouncing to his feet and started shooing his nephew out of the room for some more alone time. He loved the cub but he wasn’t in the mood for company.
>>>
You groaned in pain, your arm and your leg both throbbing from the deep cuts they had sustained. You couldn’t open your eyes, your body too exhausted even as you attempted to get up. When your muscles didn’t listen you groaned again. You couldn’t speak, couldn’t see and all you could feel was pain. The only sense that was normal was your hearing, overhearing several people in the room.
“Is she okay?”
“She is human, and she lost a lot of blood-,” The sound of a crash echoed in the room.
You could hear the rough, and raged voice speaking in a terrifyingly calm tone. “If she dies, it will be your HEAD.”
“We are not losing her AGAIN!”
The sound of angered tones calmed when you let out a surprised gasp, still trying to get up. Immediately you felt warmth surrounding you, and a hand rest on either of your shoulders, stopping you from getting up.
“Don’t get up, you need to rest,” The voice was calm almost gentle with you as you finally forced your eyes open only to freeze at the sight of the two warlords before you.
Immediately you jumped up, squealing in shock as you scooted back towards the wall, pulling your legs to your chest as you stared at the two demons in front of you. Both of them wore worried expressions, carefully looking over you as they attempted to calm you down.
Seeing who was in front of you, you suddenly let out a terrified scream at the sight of the two warlords who sat above you. You stumbled backwards before bolting out of what you now realized was a large nest of pillows and blankets slightly below the ground. Every step hurt, and you couldn’t move fast.
It didn’t take but a single moment before you were easily scooped up into the arms of The Shadow King who gently placed you back into the nest.
You went to move away again only to have The Six Eared Macaque wrap his arms around you to stop you from moving.
“Sit still, if you move too fast you might reopen your wounds,” His voice was calm but firm.
You panicked and shoved him away, and surprisingly he listened… sort of. He let go of you but he didn’t move away. Vibrant violet eyes stared you down, pupils wide as he tilted his head and casually leaned on his hand, his tail swishing back and forth.
“We don’t plan to hurt you, you are safe here,” You didn’t believe it when Wukong leaned on the bed, tilting his head to the side like a puppy as he looked you over.
The two warlords no longer wore the bloody armor from before, instead they both wore rather simple shankus. Macaque dressed in a dark royal purple while Wukong was dressed in a blood red color. Macaque had two golden bracelets on and a pendent around his neck and Wukong had a pendent around his neck and they both wore a ring at the tips of their tails. You took note of it but pushed the information away as useless.
“What do you want from me?” Your voice shook as you looked at the scarves around their necks, eyes flicking between them and the scarves and their faces.
They looked at each other before back at you and soft smiles covered their faces, “Well we couldn’t just leave our savior to die~ Don’t you remember us? Your Peach and Plum!”
You stared at Wukong, The Warlord who you saw murder someone, The Warlord who was covered in blood and covered your face in blood the moment you first saw him. Looking at him you shook your head violently back and forth, you didn’t know how they knew about your two monkey friends but you knew for a fact that they were not them. There was no way possible.
Watching them lift up their scarves, Wukong handed his to you with a beaming smile. “See! You made these for us, you remember right?” He looked nervous, tail flicking back and forth rapidly as he looked at you with wide golden eyes.
Your face paled at the sight of it, the familiar stitching you worked on for hours and the specific colors you chose. That wasn’t possible, none of this was possible. They must have gotten them some other way, there was no way that they were the two monkey CUBS that you saved. “You… You’re way bigger than either Plums or Peaches, it’s not possible-.” Wukong cut you off.
“Well of course we’re bigger. At the time we were cursed, you see, we couldn’t shift out of those defenseless forms. If we could have you wouldn’t have gone through so much pain, we would have brought you here so much quicker and you wouldn’t be hurt like you are right now. Not to mention even if we were only cubs back then, it’s been a century since then my dear~” Wukong yapped and yapped, his words drowning themselves out as they registered in your head. Cursed, and A CENTURY!?
Wukong’s voice cut off as he was wacked in the back of the head, “You are stressing her out, we can handle all the explanations later. For now, we need you to eat. You’re looking rather thin and a new set of clothing will have to do. The rags you wore before have been washed if you wish to keep them, but we have plenty of other options,” Macaque spoke calmly as he stood up, waving his hand for a servant to come running in with a cart of foods.
You stared at the food and your eyes widened, it was filled with an abundance of different foods. Breads, cheeses, a few small cakes, fruits of all kinds along with roasted vegetables and several stews. “Wait… you changed me!?” Your face flushed when you looked down at the nightgown you wore. It was a simple plain white nightgown that covered everything modestly but the fact that they had their hands on you had you shivering in the bed.
“I used my shadow magic and didn’t touch your undergarments… if that helps. But the clothes you were wearing were covered in blood and no good-,” Macaque’s explanation was cut off as a pillow flew out of the nest and hit him in the face. You sat their beat red and yelled, “GET OUT!”
Your face was flushed red, as both monkey demons took a step back. They looked at each other with thoughtful expressions, debating on what to do. You were clearly distressed about the revelation that they had changed you, but they couldn’t have trusted someone else to do it.
“Now dearest,” Wukong all but purred, knelt down next to you and spoke, “As your husbands we both had the right to take care of you and while we do wish for you to feel the most comfortable, we just couldn’t allow you to remain in such bloodied attire. Had you been awake we would have let you dress yourself, but you were unconscious so-”
“Husbands!?” That was clearly the wrong thing to say or maybe it is better to just let you know.
Macaque was about to speak when Wukong continued with a very pleased look on his face, his tail wagging excitedly behind him. “Yes! You have been deemed worthy of being not our concubine but our consort or some would say wife!” The monkey demon nearly exclaimed.
You had no idea how to respond. This wasn’t the first time you had been ‘taken’ to be someone’s wife, the last one being that fire demon last time you were stuck in this world. At the time he wanted the power of the stone, but this? What on earth was this. You just stared at him slack jawed as he continued to speak.
“As our wife you will obviously be given all you desire, from gold to silks and the finest of food of course. More importantly you will be graced with our company as much as we can give to you. We don’t expect much from you either, all you need to do is stay safe and sound on the island and we will take care of the rest~” He explained, leaning close that his nose was nearly touching yours. You don’t know if you didn’t move because of fear or straight shock.
Your face was getting paler by the second when you heard an annoyed growl, and Wukong was pulled away from you. “We talked about this darling,” Macaque gritted out the last word, “We were going to WAIT to tell her until she was feeling better.”
Wukong all but whined before swatting Macaque’s hand away, “Why wait when she is clearly feeling just fine, right wife?” You hadn’t moved, and nearly jumped out of your own skin when the golden monkey demon flopped into the nest you were in. Quickly laying his head on your lap and snuggling into you when he caged your waist with his arms.
Pain seared your leg when he laid on it, the injury that had barely been held together sent bolts of pain through you causing you to let out a shout. The cheerful and giddy monkey demon jumped up, panic written all over his face especially when he looked at your leg to see blood now staining your fresh gown.
“FUCK! Macaque get me the wraps,” Wukong growled as his mate quickly pulled cloth and what appeared to be needles and some form of thread from the shadows.
Pain shot up your leg, you tried to move in your panicked mind only for shadows to bind you so you couldn’t move. You blacked out when Macaque’s hand lightly rested on your forehead, the searing pain vanishing with the light.
>>>
“What the fuck were you thinking!?” Macaque cursed the minute that you were settled back into the nest, your leg now restitched and wrapped in a clean cloth.
Wukong sat near the edge of the nest while looking up at his beloved mate with an expression that would rival that of an injured puppy. Macaque dragged a hand down his face as he looked at his sulking husband and his once again unconscious new wife. Wukong would not be allowed to touch you at all until you were healed. And after how easily you were hurt again... he probably shouldn't either.
Letting out a sigh he turned to Wukong who was rubbing his bruised cheek, damn his mate still had a powerful right hook. "Let's let her sleep. We'll send a maid in to help her get changed if she needs the help... until she wakes up, we should leave her alone."
"What? But we just got her back, it's been-"
"It's been a hundred years, what's a few more hours to let her rest. She needs it. She is fragile, human. We aren't small cubs who are too small to hurt her anymore. So we need to be careful, and far more... delicate," that was going to be hard, especially with how touch cravin, and impulsive his husband was. It would be hard for him too, he wasn't used to handling humans. The last time he had even seen one as anything other than well food was... was you. So yes he knew this was going to be a lot of work.
Turning towards you, his tail swishing behind him calmly an idea crossed his mind. An idea he neither liked nor wanted to indulge... yeah no he would push that one right out the window there was no way they would ask for HER help. Even if she was better with humans and knew this one personally as a sister. Nope, he would prefer to make new memories with just you and his husband.
"Come on Wukong, we have stuff to attend to," Macaque gestured to the door.
"But I want to be with my mates, both of you," Wukong complained like a child.
Macaque rolled his eyes before allowing himself to grin, "don't worry she isn't going anywhere and now we have a whole lifetime to be with her~"
Damn it has been a hot minute hasn't it? I didn't mean to be gone for so long but life is life ya know.
Hope everyone has been doing well and I hope that everyone enjoys this lovely chapter!
Honestly I went so long without posting that I started to feel bad and was starting to wonder if anyone even wanted me to post again. Damn self doubt is a bitch, anyway enjoy!

(Cursed warlords) i dunno if this has been asked already but i rlly gotta know! Say, miss reader is just as obsessed as swk and macaque, but its not directed at them, no no, its directed to someone else--her sweatest other half~ who she would go to large lengths to prevent them from leaving her side, how would the two react to that? (In terms that they're only attracted to reader and can't get attracted to her "other half")
Oh these two are gonna be mad, like super mad. But of course slowly they MIGHT leave her other half alone. In order for them to leave them alone then they would def have to actually like the person.
“Who is this?” Wukong growls lowly as he looks at this human up and down. He doesn’t like this, not one bit. Why should someone else hold his darling’s heart, Macaque he could understand but this human? He wanted nothing more than to rip them to shreds.
Macaque was also watching the human, a low scowl on his face as he watched his darling cuddle up close to someone else. He wanted to rip them away from her but if he did what would happen? He had seen that kind of look in someone’s eyes, specifically that was the way Wukong would look at him and he at Wukong and you. If they take this person away, he doesn’t think they would be able to fix that relationship.
So, they don’t kill them, at least not the normal way no that would affect your thoughts on them. So, they may find a way to kill this person, no they would find a way to kill the person. Setting up traps, glamours and all the other things they can to make the person vanish without it leading back to them. They would find a way to kill them and use it as a reason to comfort you.
Hello! How are you? I hope your doing well! Make sure you eat & drink. I have a fun idea for your Cursed Warlords Au... >:]
What if, Reader, after she had finally accepted and love them, she decides to get them a surprise gift without telling it to anyone. Except for Spirit which Spirit swore not to tell anyone, even them. The duo, still fully protective (probably traumatised on the amount of times they nearly lost her) panicked and rushes around, trying to find her. They even asked Spirit millions of times for her to shake her head and not say a thing. The two gets pissed at the guards who are just as clueless as them. Just as they were about to throw hands, she arrives, carrying gifts. Blinking in wonder in what the hell happened only to be thrown into a cuddle pile by them. And she explains and gives them their gifts. Everyone in the mountain sigh in relief.
❤️🔥
“What the hell do you mean you won’t tell us where she is!?” Wukong nearly roared at Spirit who looked at him with a look of pure indifference.
Rolling her eyes she looked back down at the scarf she was embroidering. A project that you and she were both working on. It was made of an almost see through red fabric with golden and silver embroidery. Something to go along with a stunning red hanfu that Wukong and Macaque gifted you last week.
“She said she’d be back soon,” She responded calmly as she continued her work, unfazed by the Monkey King who looked like he was about to rip her throat out.
A nasty look if she was being honest, but she wasn’t all that afraid not after last time he lashed out at her. You had given him the silent treatment for almost a whole month and it drove him so crazy he swore never to lay a hand on her again if you would just talk to him.
You agreed, reluctantly. If only to stop his constant pleading, begging and downright threatening of the neighboring villages. But that had been over a year ago, and while you never truly forgave him for hurting your sister you had accepted the fact that you couldn’t leave your two husbands. So Spirit as petty as she was made a point to piss them off with little things, her own personal revenge knowing that they couldn’t lay a hand on her without them risking the backlash of it.
Letting out a low growl, Wukong snapped his teeth before Macaque grabbed his shoulder and pulled him away from her. “Do you know exactly where she is right now?” He growled warningly.
“Nope, so I can’t help even if I wanted to,” She grinned, before rolling her eyes. Why you were getting them a gift in the first place was beyond her.
Wukong was about to shout when footsteps echoed behind him, and he and Macaque whirled around to see you walk into the room carrying two nearly wrapped boxes. You went to smile at them and speak but was stopped when the duo suddenly pounced on you, letting out a started yelp you landed on your butt as they refused to let you go.
“I was only gone a few hours,” You mutter but they didn’t care, all they cared about was that you were home and safe in their arms again. Needless to say they were not going to let you out of their sight for a while.
They didn’t really care about gifts but as you handed them the small boxes they were ecstatic that you had been thinking of them. Even if you had run off to complete this little mission of yours.
“We’ll just leave the room if you wanna get us a gift, or send someone with you.”
“Never do that again, we thought you were hurt.”
“We love you, please never do that again.” They say as they practically crush you in a hug.
The Cursed Warlords Arc #Two - Chapter #Four - Reunion
You are recognized by demons you never thought would know you and they are mad.
The world seemed to stop as your voice pierced through the air. His ears seemed to burn at the sound you made, voices from the past echoing through his head like a storm raging through the sky. He hadn’t even turned when he froze, his head pounding as everything around him silenced outside of your heavy panting and the sound of blood slowly dripping onto the floor.
Snapping his head towards you, his eyes were filled with a deep, deadly rage. For just a moment the thought of trickery, illusions or more crossed his mind. Those thoughts were soon forced out when he thought about it, he HEARD you. Nothing could trick his hearing into thinking one voice was another. Voice disguises just didn’t affect him, and he could only ever hear the real voice.
His eyes stared at the large, clawed cut in your arm with shock, his eyes slowly moving to your other leg that was knelt on the ground from another injury. All before his eyes shifted to stare into yours, a face he didn’t even take notice of before. Why would he? Your beauty didn’t matter, but as he stared at you longer your voice cut through his thoughts bringing up memories that had LONG been buried. All while your voice seemed to echo through all six of his glamoured ears.
“Who hurt her?” The first question he asked. Everyone in the room stood frozen, the elderly couple who were in the corner, you try your best to guard them, the wolf demon Jax, and even his own nephew didn’t make a sound.
Confusion was clear as day for all of the people in the room. Especially you as he took a step closer to you, forgetting about his earlier annoyance to his nephew. His nephew wasn’t protecting some random human, wasn’t trying to just cause a scene. When he mentioned a sweet human how could Macaque have thought it was you. No maybe it wasn’t, was he certain?
He stepped towards you and you immediately flinched back in fear of the bloody demon. Macaque froze for a moment, pupils blown wide as he took in the very subtle and small motion. You were afraid, you… you were crying. Tears filled your eyes and he could feel his heart clench at the thought of you being in pain, and fear. You were afraid of him, no there was no need for you to fear him. His eyes glanced down back at his armor, the armor that was covered in splatters of human blood.
He couldn’t focus on that, first he had to know. He had to know.
You tried to move back, but due to your injuries it became impossible as a clawed hand soon held your face, forcing you to look into violet eyes that reminded you of that cub you used to know. He kneeled down in front of you, his hand cupping your face gently but firmly as he looked into your eyes, still over a head taller than you even while kneeling for you.
“Say something else,” His words were authorative and stern, leaving no room for discussion as he stared into your eyes, harsh venom purple eyes staring right into your own eyes. You could see as his pupils widened with each passing second, the way his grip loosened as you finally spoke. “Let go of me.”
The words were shaky, but you could see how his ears twitched at the sound, his wide pupils dilating to narrow pinpoints. You felt your heart pound in your ears as his hand slipped away from your chin his head, turning slowly to look back at the monkey demon and the wolf demon.
“Your majesty is everything-,” His words went silent as the wolf demon felt shadows wrap around his body and snout stopping him from speaking.
“Baozhai… go get my husband,” Macaque’s words were cold and almost cruel, devoid of almost all emotion.
Baozhai’s eyes widened with fear, stepping closer to his uncle he was about to argue, about to say something, about to help you. A single lethal look from his uncle had him freezing, violet purple eyes glowing dangerously as a tail lashed slowly back and forth. A warning, one that Baozhai wasn’t stupid enough to go up against.
“Y-Yes uncle,” Baozhai turned towards the door glanced back at you before looking at the older folk who were unable to move, shadows blocking the exit and stopping the old man from getting to you. Neither were hurt too badly but he had no idea what his uncle was thinking.
The moment Baozhai was out the door, Macaque’s attention was turned back to you, his hand moving to grab your wrist. Fear shot through you as you attempted to back up, only to hit solid shadows behind you. His clawed hand wrapping around your wrist in a gentle but firm grasp.
“DON’T TOUCH ME!” You shouted, your hand flying to slap the demon across the face.
As soon as your hand hit him you knew you fucked up, this was a demon of high ranking. This was a demon covered in blood and armor, with the use of shadows at his will. Feeling your adrenaline spike you go to move, eyes snapping up to his expecting anger, expecting rage but instead come to find a soft look on his face.
“You’re hurt, the longer we wait the more of a chance you are going to lose too much blood. As much as I would love to grant your wish I can’t without risking your health. So, I am going to touch you, I am going to wrap those wounds,” His voice was low, calm almost hypnotic in a way. You could feel your body relaxing to his voice as black shadows wrapped around your injured leg and again around your arm.
You felt yourself snap out of it soon enough, but the shadows were already snuggly in place like a second skin against your skin. Even when your unharmed hand came up to grab the shadows you couldn’t latch onto anything the magic was seamless. You could feel your breathing pick up as the monkey demon leaned in a little closer staring at your face as if memorizing it.
He couldn’t believe it, none of this made any sense. You were here in front of him, with the same voice the same eyes that felt like they were looking back at him just yesterday. The memory of bells echoed through his head, his eyes widening as he realized what they had been. The bells had told him a week ago, you had been here for a week. He could remember now the last time that he had heard those was the last time you had arrived. How had he not noticed?
“Stop staring at me,” You snapped, leaning your head away from him and he blinked, a slight flush on his cheeks as he leaned back.
He didn’t move to touch you, not to hurt you, not to help you. Not after you had expressed so deeply that you didn’t want him touching you. He’d have to when he took you home, but for now while he waited for his mate, he could be patient and give you space. Looking around the house, he realized it was a crappy, small and crowded one bedroom style home. No doubt the home of the elderly couple who was cowering away from him.
It is nothing suited for you, he would have to fix this. Well he would, of course he would. Once you were home you wouldn’t have to share a room with the elderly. You would be able to share a room with him and Wukong and keep your clothes in a separate room along with having a full bathing area. None of these things were supplied here other than a small restroom apparently.
The fear in your eyes still shined brightly but he could work with that, you could fear him but he wouldn’t hurt you. Surely your fear would leave eventually, his ears twitched and immediately he knew that it would take a little longer with the fear problem. Specifically when a certain loud, charismatic husband of his walked into the room.
>>>
Wukong cackled with delight as another mortal who had attempted and failed to attack him fell to the ground. Blood covered his Ruyi Jingu Bang as he bounced around the battlefield not caring about the many lives he took and destroyed.
As he travelled to the near deserted and destroyed village he caught sight of many shiny gold pieces of value. Quickly picking up jewels that caught his attention and a variety of clothing that looked pretty. Of course he wasn’t one to wear such feminine hanfu, he was sure that many of his troop would be interested in the gorgeous gowns.
“PUT THAT DOWN AND LEAVE MY TOWN!” The shout cut through the air so much that Wukong tilted his head as he turned to look at the old man holding a wooden staff in his direction.
The man was dressed in the most lavish Pao he had seen yet. A dark black cloth with fine golden embroidery of different clouds. It was a fine example of something he would wear. However, the man who wore it didn’t seem like someone who deserved it, pity.
“What?” He asked, tilting his head to the side with a grin spreading across his face. Showing off his bloody fangs and the blood that had splattered across his face.
The man froze at the sight of him as he stood to his full height, dropping the gold necklace that had been in his hand prior to the man’s outburst. Wukong’s eyes narrowed as he noticed the gold the man wore, he had the most amount he’d seen yet. Aw this must be the village leader, swaying his tail carelessly he leaned against the top of his staff.
The man’s eyes snapped to the staff covered in a variety of carved swirls and designs into the blood red material, framed only by each of the golden ends that were also carved delicately. However, what seemed to catch his attention the most was the way blood was covering more than half of it.
“It really is a pity, that would have made a wonderful pao to wear. Too bad you sullied it,” Wukong growled, and before the man knew it pain spread through his body as he let out a terrified scream that turned into a gurgled mess when blood filled his lungs and he started coughing it up, unable to stop.
“Well goodbye~” Wukong chuckled as the man collapsed to the ground, able to see the way Wukong grinned with the man’s heart beating in his bloodied, clawed grasp.
Caught up in the moment, Wukong didn’t notice his nephew coming up to him with drooped ears and nervously twisting his tail in between his hands. He had seen the way the man just barely looked at his uncle wrong had resulted in his death, he wouldn’t do that to you right? He didn’t even know why Macaque needed Wukong there in the first place. Unless maybe he was in enough trouble to warrant Wukong getting involved too.
“Uncle Wukong?” He called out, nervously tapping his feet on the ground.
His bloody uncle turned, wild eyes locking onto him and he grinned widely. “Hey Baozhai! How’s it going? Not much time to talk, I still got a few people to hunt.”
“Uncle Macaque wants you… he’s in that building over there,” Baozhai spoke nervously, pointing to the building that he was sure you were getting lectured or tortured in.
Wukong tilted his head in confusion before shrugging and strolling towards his mate. After all who was he to decline seeing his own husband?
>>>
“Hello darling~ You called?” Wukong shouted loudly, and Macaque turned only to sigh in exasperation. Wukong was the picture of death and destruction, his armor a gleaming gold half coated in blood, fur stained with blood, claws dripping as one of his hands held a still slow beating heart. A bloody smile spread across his face as he walked up to Macaque with a wide grin and an easy swaying tail.
“I got this for you, the leader of the town was a loudmouth, and I thought who better to get the heart of the town than my beloved mate?” He asked, showing off his bloody fangs.
Wukong was expecting a grin, a snarky remark, a tease about his words, or something similar. What he did NOT expect was a disappointed look, and the way Macaque pinched the bridge of his nose with his fingers shaking his head. Tilting his head, Wukong frowned when his eyes noticed the woman covered in shadows. Immediately his eye twitched, he didn’t even look at her face before turning to Macaque with a scowl.
“Who is this now?” Jealousy laced his tone before Macaque could speak.
Macaque let out a quiet sigh and pointed at her with his thumb, “Take a good look at her face and you tell me.”
Jealousy and confusion laced Wukong’s expression as he scowled, tail twitching in annoyance. But the moment his golden eyes met yours his whole body froze. His tail stopped, his pupils blown wide as he stared at your face. Disheveled hair falling over your shoulders, fearful eyes wide as you held an arm that was wrapped in shadowlike bandages. Your legs tucked up under yourself, you looked like a wounded, scared animal. It was you, his darling Reader!
In disbelief he approached you, falling down into a squat in front of you. He lifted his bloodied hand and held you by the chin. The smell filled your senses and you froze, terror filling your body as you shivered in fear.
“READER!?” He shouted louder than he meant with his face getting up close to yours as he looked at your face in disbelief.
His tail that had frozen started madly wagging, as he gave you the biggest smile ever. Eyes shining with joy and disbelief as he looked you up and down, head tilting to the side as he examined your face. Your eyes fell down to the heart in his hand, terror covering your expression as you looked at the bloody, dangerous demon lord in front of you. Shrinking away from him, your breathing increased and panic began to rise.
His grin faltered at your terror before Macaque grabbed the back of his scarf and dragged him a few feet away from him. Chirps ensued between the two, nothing you were able to understand.
‘It’s Reader!’ Wukong chirped quickly.
‘I know, but you are freaking her out with the blood,’ Macaque responded gesturing to his bloody outfit.
Wukong looked down at himself and frowned, he didn’t want to scare you. Even if you looked cute with that expression. Instead of leaving and cleaning up he glanced back at you, his eyes glancing at the shadows wrapped around your arm and to your leg. Things suddenly clicked into place, and he looked back at Macaque with a disbelieving expression.
“Did Baozhai-,” Wukong’s words were cut short by Macaque.
“He found her, this was the woman he was trying to spare. And the woman Jax tried to kill,” The words came out short, calm and far more collected than the rage that exploded in Wukong’s chest. In mere moments his face turned from happy, to confused, to vengeful. His head snapped towards the wolf demon that he had barely taken notice of before and bared his teeth, eyes gleaming dangerously.
Macaque didn’t do anything to stop his mate, a satisfied smile spread across his face as the wolf demon let out a scream. He had released him from the shadows, but it didn’t give the demon any help when Wukong snapped his neck like a twig. Tail still lashing, Wukong growled lowly before freezing along with his mate at the startled scream from the floor. Fuck… they forgot how squeamish their darling was.
Blood dripped down the body of the wolf demon as he collapsed to the ground. Oh fuck, oh fuck, they were crazy they were going to kill you. You stared at the demon who was dripping blood, the demon who turned his attention to you the moment you had screamed, golden eyes looking at you with an almost hurt expression.
Your ears began to ring as he took a step towards you, only to be stopped by the shadow monkey who spoke a series of words that didn’t register in your head. You couldn’t take your eyes off of the demon laying dead on the ground, not until you felt arms pick you up. You screeched, attempting to get out of Macaque’s grip as he carried you bridal style.
“I will meet you back home Sun. Baozhai, you’re with me,” You were in a panic, attempting to fight but only causing more pain to shoot up your arm and leg. “You’re only going to hurt yourself more if you continue to fight.”
Baozhai, who had been in the doorway walked up to his uncle with his tail between his legs and ears pressed against his head. Looking at you, he wasn’t sure what to do or how to react, he had caused a mess, and his uncles were not reacting how he expected. He had never seen them touch a human without killing them, what on earth were they doing?
Shifting uncomfortably on his feet he watched as everything went dark, Macaque’s shadows wrapping around all three of them, himself, Baozhai and the struggling human. Her one good arm attempting to push away from his uncle, but not nearly strong enough to make him so much as budge.
“You’re only going to hurt yourself more if you continue to fight,” Macaque said with a stern expression, but you didn’t stop instead choosing to hit his chest harder.
He growled lowly before lifting a hand to your face causing you to freeze for just a minute in fear. “I don’t want to hurt you, love.”
Your face flushed at his words, but you didn’t stop slapping and hitting him, trying to get him to let you go. He let out a deep sigh when you winced as you hit his chest again, starting to turn your fist red. You felt his hand on your cheek and before you could shout you watched your vision turn black and the sound around you disappear.
“You’ll feel better in the morning,” He muttered, the last words you heard before you slowly passed out into the darkness. Leaning forward he gave your forehead a light kiss before he and Baozhai appeared back in the Stone Palace’s courtroom.
Baozhai didn’t see the small action in the shadows as he had straightened himself back up as they stepped out of the shadows.
“… Am I in trouble?” He didn’t want to be, but the fear of punishment finally had him asking, he wanted to know how badly he’d fucked up.
Macaque stopped walking, turned his head and glanced at the young cub. His eyes glancing down at the woman tucked gently in his arms and he shook his head. “Do you know who this is?”
Baozhai looked up at his uncle, confused by the question before shaking his head. He quickly followed behind him, taking every twist and turn towards the infirmary where the healers were. His uncle’s words continued as he walked.
“You’re not going to be in trouble, not after you saved this specific mortal,” He was vague not explaining everything as he calmly walked. His ears fluttered out as he listened to the way his mate shouted at the army, getting everything situated. Including the death of Jax, the demon who had messed with their precious queen.
“M-My king!” one of the medics shouted in shock before giving a low bow.
“I need you to take care of something for me, quietly,” Macaque explain, gently placing his darling down onto the bed reserved for him and his mate even thou they almost never got hurt enough to use it now a days. “She is to be healed, as painlessly as possible.”
