i mean... i just published another chapter of the strangest torment (21/25 ENDGAME ENDGAME WOOOO)

in which Mairon is uuuhhh ... not so loyal a servant?

‘Do you defy me, lieutenant?’ Melkor asked, quiet but not without threat.  Mairon turned to face him and Melkor was stuck by how beautiful and naked his rage showed on his face. His golden eyes were fires of wrath, his sharp cheeks sunken and fell. He snarled, his mouth filled with the teeth of a wolf.  ‘I defy all of this foolishness.’ With his free hand he gestured sharply at the throne, at Melkor himself.  ‘You complain of disloyalty in the court and yet you yourself disobey my command.’ ‘Your actions of late have lacked reason.’ Mairon growled at him, growing brighter as flames sprang from his fana.  ‘I am your king, I do not need to justify myself,’ Melkor did not rise to the challenge. He sat back on his throne and looked contemptuously round at the assembled beings, ‘to any of you.’ ‘I am your co-conspirator, your partner in creation, your fellow ruler and I require reason!’ Mairon burst from his elvish form, doubling in height as he matched up to Melkor, a clawed beast of flame. Melkor flicked his power over Mairon, extinguishing the fires and throwing him back several paces. 

of course i am a multiprocrastinator so i've also just started this Thuringwethil x Arien for the fic i'll eventually write

I literally added it to my Thuringwethil lore that Arien was her ex and they broke up because Melkor (was jealous) planted suspicion in Arien’s mind about Thuri thereby literally driving her further to the dark side BUT because Arien knows Thuri’s true form (vampiric monster) under her gaze it is revealed hence vampires can’t go out in sunlight. It just makes so much sense. Also sapphics, my love.

Míriel/ Indis is ADORABLE

but ngl I am a diehard Indis/Nerdanel shipper so I tend to prefer my Mindis past tense and sad and full of missed opportunities (YAY angst!!) and as a kind of Míriel/Finwë/Indis that is fated to never work out without all 3 of them (YAY angst!!.2)
