Sgt. Rock, Mcfarlane DC Multiverse(2024). Sergeant Franklin John Rock, also known as simply Sgt. Rock, is a fictional character appearing in DC Comics. Sgt. Rock first appeared in Our Army at War #83 (June 1959), and was created by Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert. The character is a World War Il soldier who served as an infantry non-commissioned officer. Rock is a crackshot, able to shoot down several German fighter planes with a single submachine gun, and able to throw hand grenades with amazing accuracy. He is a highly effective close combat fighter, mostly shown using a style of street fighting mixed with boxing and judo.

Created by writer Robert Kanigher and artist Joe Kubert, Sergeant Rock made his first appearance in "Our Army At War #83" in June 1959. Sergeant Frank Rock, commonly known as Sgt Rock, is the tough and resilient leader of Easy Company, an infantry unit in the fictional DC Comics universe. Rock is depicted as a skilled combatant and an exceptional soldier.  Rock is known for his bravery and determination. The stories featuring Sergeant Rock and Easy Company often showcase their missions, battles, and the challenges faced by soldiers in war-torn Europe. These stories often depict the camaraderie among the soldiers, the horrors of war, and the personal sacrifices made on the battlefield. Sergeant Rock has unwavering leadership as well as strategic thinking.  He has an ability to inspire his troops in the face of danger. Despite the harsh realities of war, Rock remains a symbol of resilience and determination. The popularity of Sergeant Rock led to the renaming of "Our Army At War" to "Sgt. Rock" with issue #302 in November 1977.
