Rants of the Homestuck cosplayer
So I love it when I find a decent tutorial online (usually tumblr) for homestuck cosplays that won’t force me to, I dunno, rent an entire workshop just to craft stuff. But the thing that irks me a lot is how most of the materials are usually difficult to locate here in SG where I live. 1. Grey body paint for trolls. Most people recommend Grimas which is fine and dandy if you’re in Europe but there is probably no store here that sells it. I swear. Well, we have Snazaroo paint at least, but because it’s an import the price ain’t too pretty for the long term. 2. Final seal. Generally recommended is Ben Nye final seal. Before tumblr and online tutorials, I can swear that I have never even heard of the brand. It’s practically impossible to find here, gotta get it online and the price blows up in your face because OH GOD THE SHIPPING. 3. Tools and craft materials in general. Okay, so this isn’t too bad, you can still find them if you look hard enough (I think) but it’s pretty irritating when tutorials say “you can find this at any craft/hardware store” in their country and I travel all over our tiny country and discover that I can only find it online. That, or I discover that it’s only sold in tiny quantities for a not-so-pretty price *sob*
