Yesterday, I sent in the paperwork to be a member of SFWA. Last year, they changed the rules, allowing poetry sales to qualify for membership. I have more than met the threshold.
I am extremely proud of this, and I have never joined a professional organization before.

LLMs in SFF are fail -- tell SFWA this!
The Science Fiction Writers Association has published a survey about the ethics of LLM use. Anyone can take it, but I suspect creators' views will be given additional weight.
It's not the typical push poll one often sees about AI, in which "I don't use it and don't think anyone else should" doesn't even appear as an option. It lets you say that you don't! It lets you say that you think LLMs should be banned! Its one significant content problem is that it doesn't explicitly acknowledge the existence of fan creators, but there are free-text fields where that gap can be raised and questioned.
(It also asks for your name and email address. If you refuse to take it on that basis, I can't quarrel with your decision.)
