Yep, gone a little overboard on the hand sewing 😂. Knowing when to stop ✋ is key! I've loved enhancing this crazy #crumbblocks #portholes from my workshop with @afullenglish with all different threads, embroidery floss, linen and random old spools that have been lurking in my thread drawer, even metallic (which I managed to do with my sewing machine 😳, never managed that before !!!!!) My Bernina B330 she is small but beautiful! #greatbritishquilter with @sarahashfordstudio and @verykerryberry My machine is decorated with stickers that my husband gave me from @pinbadgeclub and a Greyson Perry stamp from @naomialicec. She is a simple domestic machine, and she does everything I want her to! Her throat could be bigger, but we do just fine!!!! I bought her two replace two ancient machines, one that could only do straight stitch, and another that could only do zig zag 😂 😂. Having a cheeky play whilst kids are occupied. I have been thinking about curves since the #festivalofquilts blew my mind with inspiration. So I have whacked some curves up on the design wall (I have taken other stuff down to be relegated to the "thinking about pile" 🤔💭) So far I'm liking its boldness! Yep a lot of stuff to be finished 😂. A lot of wip!!! And so many ideas in my head, I need a team of helpers like Andy Warhol to help me out by doing all the boring bits🤔😜. Then there is the stuff that I'm not sure I want to finish, that I've gone off, or don't want to spend the time on. I think we need a "not feeling it amnesty" and swap them or give to someone else! When to call time on an idea, that is the question 🤔. Plus once I know I can do something, I get bored quickly 😂and want to more on to something more challenging. #wip longest one is this #grandmothersflowergarden quilt which I will finish 😂......one day! #greatbritishquilter @sarahashfordstudio @verykerryberry it's getting there I have all the fabric I need. Thanks to some generous quilty friends. It's a project I get out when I'm wanting to not think about anything, I can zone out and just carry on with it. Let my fingers go on autopilot. I've made all the decisions already, colours and pattern. So I can just sew. It's one I take on journeys and on ferrys. And something I pick up when I'm not inspired. So I actually haven't picked it up lately 😂😂🤣😂🤣😂😜 Hey it's only taken me 2 years so far!! Maybe a bit longer 🤔💭time takes on a different meaning when you are sewing ! Also, if I'm honest, when I AM feeling down and uninspired by life generally, and I work on it, I can see that I have made it grow. Even if it's by one #hexies ! And that is SOMETHING.
