The Ionia Bundle
I've made horrible life decisions. This includes making my interpretations of a couple of characters faces. From left to right, Zed, Nilah, Karma, Sett's mom, Zed again pre and post breakup with Shen, Akali, and Faey.
Zed in my head in order to make it make sense has albinism. He is also based off the Kazakh due to a mention that his home is pretty cold and it snows a lot. He also shaved his head in a sort of bid of 'Letting all worldly problems wash over you' kind of like the way nuns and monks shave their heads in Asia (I wonder if there are similar practices in West Asia).
Nilah and Karma are there, I wanted to make them different shades of dark skin due to, well, dark skinned individuals do have variety within their tones.
Sett's mom (I'm not sure if she ever got a Canon name but I personally named her Kāi-Míng) is supposed to be a Wolverine Vastaya yet her and Sett give off more fox inspiration?? I'm not too sure why since wolverines are interesting creatures that would suit Sett's character way more (They have loose skin which allows them to maneuver to attack whoever is attacking them) and I made her wear fashion common with women in 1920s Republic of China (I forgot what the garment is called and keep getting inconsistent results. I thought her specific skirt and blouse was called an Aoqun but then it turns out that maybe more Ming?? Please help bro, I'm begging ((T_T))
Akali and Faey are next! I made them Ryukuan since I lowkey want more ethnic groups within Asia to be represented especially since in Japan they tried to erase them and the Ainu. I gave Akali a more flat and narrow face shape and moles and Faey I gave her a traditional kanpuu due to her admiring Mayyem who is an older woman and Akali's mom. She would also have a hajichi inspired tattooing on her hands. I guess Akali and Faey could be the representation of the evolution of culture. Faey is more traditional and Akali the more 'forward' (if that's how you say it) member of their clan.
I couldn't draw Akali's mom cause dear god I suck at drawing older women despite over half of my characters whether original or not being older women.
