Rose the Hat

She tries to be chill guys. I sincerely doubt she is going to be rude to the hostess unless she feels the wait time is entirely unreasonable

That being said, if you cite a number over 30 minutes, she is going to ask why in a stern, slightly aggressive way

Not the Hostess’s worst nightmare, but certainly high maintenance

Also doesn’t want to give you her phone number, will probably use a false name. She’s private like that.

Asks for a menu to look at while she waits, even if there’s maybe three menus available

Will ABSOLUTELY ask for a different table if it’s not up to her standards, even if you’re literally in a dinner rush from the ninth circle of hell. Will probably point to a table that needs to be bussed with a ‘actually, I’ll have that one’ OKAY GREAT!

Gives a nod as you tell her goodbye, no eye contact. Leaves none of the dishes in neat piles, there’s a napkin in a beer glass 100%

Juliette Nichols

Polite, slightly distractible. She is managing her crew of Mechanical besties, and all of them are talking over your conversation, making it hard for her to focus

Is immediately RELIEVED when the offer to grab a drink at the bar while the wait is offered, mostly because having something in her hand makes the wait go by faster

The furthest thing from high maintenance, she probably apologizes to you when the wait is longer than you expect

Waves awkwardly when you say goodbye, mutters a ‘you too’ after the end of every interaction

The plates are stacked, the cups are stacked, but unfortunately the crumbs beneath the table are worse than a group of children. The mechanics try, but they’re messy guys!!!

Lady Jessica

Respectful, considerate and patient. The hostess’s favorite patron, mostly because she’s so easy

Gives the perfect information in a reasonable volume, responds with a ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ when applicable

If she has any table requests, they’re given during the initial introduction, the number count is perfect, if there is a larger party they are already assembled when she is called to be seated

My literal dream, mostly because she’s prepared and more intelligent than the general public, (AND SHE USES HER INTELLIGENCE!!)

Ilsa Faust

She’s the singleton in the dinner rush.

Definitely the sweetest person you’ve talked to since the waitlist started, but the nightmare of finding a place to seat her remains the primary culprit for any and all issues

Regardless she is very polite, makes small talk if there’s time and any requests for seating are made upfront and in a very flexible manner.

That being said, after you seat her there is no goodbye. She slips out of the restaurant the bill is paid.

Riza Stavros

Oh boy.

Absolutely DISGUSTED that there is a wait.

I wouldn’t put it past this woman to throw every theatrical act in the book. She wants a menu while she’s waiting, she wants a drink from the bar, and she 100% sits down at a table in a service section once she has a glass of wine

My advice? Don’t fight this battle. The reality? She doesn’t even WANT the table she sat herself at when you offer to give it to her.

Asks for LEMON WATER when you drop off waters to help the server that is definitely double sat because of her needs.

Asks you for the specials and tries to give you her order. (You’re just the hostess). More theatrics, plenty of eye rolling, etc

She sits on that fucking table for an hour after she’s paid.

Give up. That’s my advice. That table belongs to the void now, don’t even count on getting it back.

Slips you a $20 on the way out.

Jenny Lind

She comes in right before close with 10 people.

A diva is going to do what a diva excels at, and theater kids have always captured the local restaurant after a show

They’re rowdy, they’re loud, they’re messy and they set everyone’s close back. It’s not your problem though, once you finish polishing silverware, you clock out!

I hope you sat them with a server you don’t like…

Mae

She’s a regular and did a gig at your pub a few years back, so that makes her almost an employee

If there’s not a seat at the bar only then will she trouble you, and she’ll probably just hang out with you until you can snag a table for her

She is so chill about everything, doesn’t even need a menu if she’s gonna order food.

We love Mae. And Mae probably adores the heck out of you too!!
