Florence and Shawn would have very bad feelings about Ripper... (and their feelings were right! After Ripper's plan just be in motion.)

But they wouldn't know how BAD things would become until an unexpected guest arrives at their door.... Serpentina!

Serpentina would warn Florence about Ripper and suggest that she go somewhere out of the city, until everything is safe again. (The reason that she's warning her, after kicking her out, is to make sure that she's safe and doesn't get hurt badly to give any information that she's doesn't have.)

So, to not raise any suspicion, the family takes a trip to Grandma Jessica's house (Shawn's mom) and stayed for about a few days/week (she lives outside of the city). Then Shawn had to go back to the city while Florence and the kids had to stay with Grandma Jessica until everything went back to normal.
