The guidebook for the Serpentfire Tarot associates this card with a phrase I find very charming, and that is “pesky influences.” Ain’t that a Mercury retrograde mood?! ⠀ ⠀ Today, let’s be mindful of what we allow into our bubbles. Be aware of what’s important and worthy of engagement, and what’s a pesky influence that you’d be better off swatting like a fly. ⠀ ⠀ Look at all these eyeballs - clearly our view has the potential to be big, which makes sense because I think dreamy and psychic Neptune is up to something today. The trouble is, when you’re scanning a vast landscape, you need to be able to sort the signal from the noise. ⠀ ⠀ Be discerning. Sit with your feelings. Question your impulses. Don’t let yourself get swept up in little irritations, when there’s a whole lot of gold to be found. And at the end of the day, make time for a salt bath, or to burn some cleansing herbs, or to visualize yourself washed of anything that doesn’t belong to you. WEATHER REPORT - FOUR OF CUPS. ⠀ ⠀ First, I’m just going to address the elephant in the room and say, does this image look a little... phallic to anyone else? Just me? Ok. ⠀ ⠀ Well, the Four of Cups comes up to show us where we’re out of sync, where we’re not in flow with our environment, as a means of helping us get back into that smooth current. The Serpentfire’s take on this card is showing us how nature finds ways to thrive, to coexist, to propagate itself, even in unlikely circumstances. ⠀ ⠀ I don’t think I’m alone in finding this retrograde vibe a little tricky. Everyone I talk to is finding their thoughts stagnant, and their bodies sore and slow. It can be tempting to use our frustrations to push ourselves into motion again, but everything around us suggests that this isn’t going to work right now.⠀ ⠀ Rather than resisting and fighting this challenging environment, can we find a way to work at this pace?
