Random headcannon: Sweet pea has never had the best parental support and when it came to getting a signature for field trips at school he either wasn’t able to ask his parents or when they were civil enough to ask they couldn’t pay for the trip. So, the young Sweet pea had to stay behind (mostly just skipping that day) and recreating the field trips in whatever way he could in his back yard. If the school was going to a museum, he’d draw his own pictures, hang them up all over his trailer and act like he was at the gallery himself.
