Between the Queues: Thoughts on the Danevbie Legacy
All the while Crystal Valley was posting, I was busy reading @serindeppity‘s Danevbie Legacy (https://serindeppity.wordpress.com/). Well, just the first gen for now. I previewed it months ago, saved it on a sticky on my computer, and then went about my way for a few months until I decided to give it another look.
I’m so glad I did, and I can’t believe I wanted so long! It made me laugh, cry (or as close as I get to crying while reading stories), and feel everything in between. That’s just for the first gen! I finished it earlier today, and plan to keep reading more tomorrow because I’m officially hooked.
Normally I don’t talk about sims stories, but this one was worthy of a mention. Perhaps I’ll do this more for ones I really enjoy?

I'm afraid I don't know much about your main stories; since I mainly subscribed for your Elliott x Sebastian fics, but if you wish to write about them too, I'd love to read! I don't want to turn your blog into another Stardew blog and have people sub and unsub once you start working on other things though...
You’re not the first person to say they received no notification whatsoever of that original post I made. This makes me wonder if Tumblr is experimenting with a Facebook-like metric (god, I hope not) wherein if you don’t ‘like’ enough posts someone makes on a certain topic, you stop seeing posts by that person on your dash. That’s exactly how FB works, and if Tumblr is going to go that way, well...

But from what I see you still love madness it's clear with all the effort and passion you put into it so don't extinguish that flame simply because a lot of simmers prefer the simple easy to read things

I can't say much cause I'm in the same place with Danevbies but as long as you're enjoying what you're putting out there and even if it's just a fraction of the readers you had X amount of time ago I don't see why you should stop (that's what I'm telling myself anyway).
I do love it, yes. And I won’t stop writing it. I’ve just been having a lousy couple of weeks, combined with some other things. I don’t talk much about my life itself on here, so most people aren’t aware of what’s going on. All of that just coincided with my excitement about trying a new thing... which promptly received zero response. And that just deflated me like you wouldn’t believe, leading me into a spiral of depression worse than I’ve experienced for a long, long time.

Sorry to hear that this community is giving you a hard time. Maybe tumblr is not the best medium to publish such a story? It is, after all, a picture sharing tool - quick and easy, and forgotten as quick and easy. To me it seems your pictured posts alway get a lot of attention and nice comments. I would think that many people do not scroll back on their dash or open single blogs to read the full story. Don't put your self-esteem in the hands of tumblr. Maybe there are fo
This wasn’t going to be a full story; just a scene that was asked for. Kind of like fulfilling a Secret Santa request for a short bit of fiction. I know Tumblr is more of a visual medium, but I don’t like sticking to unspoken community-defined ‘rules’ like that. I’m too old to be anything but contrarywise now. Social media takes me as it finds me ;)
(Incidentally, it bugs me that Tumblr’s comments get cut off after so many characters. I can see there was more to what you had to say there, but that’s where it ended in my comment box for that post. Sorry!)
