Sergio Lima, a poet, artist, essayist, and volcanic animator for decades in the Surrealist movement and the Phases group, died this week on July 25th in São Paulo. His brother in surrealism, José Miguel Pérez Corrales has written a tribute to him at Surrealismo Internacional.

A collective work, Sergio Lima, Imagem Acontecimento, with texts in Portuguese and English by a number of scholars and Lima himself considering his trajectory within Surrealism and his poetry has also been recently published.

Artaud's letter was first published in La révolution surréaliste, # 8, his response to André Breton's Lettre aux voyantes published in the fifth issue, but perhaps more importantly in response to Rimbaud's lettres du voyant, a relationship that Sergio Lima revolves in his text.
