BLI has a system of points for 'good behaviour' at work that allow you to access some predetermined office customisation, almost like unlocking things in a video game (nameplate 1; chair 3b; one of the most expensive, picture frame 4c). Part of this 'good behaviour' is showing restraint and 'good taste' in decorating of course. And, much like video game aesthetic customisation, it's much more of a status symbol than self expression.

and yes i agree there is something almost soulless about basically finishing levelling up. i think it'd be worse if there were like. 5 set styles that you levelled up into and the offices were all carbon copies of each other.
