It's a really interesting question. No doubt that Severus's relationship with the staff evolved as he aged. At first he certainly was the wee baby of the staff room for sure, which couldn't have been comfortable by any means, especially since he was coming back to a place full of trauma for him and with colleagues that used to advert their eyes on the bullying he suffered from (a very nice post from @fannedandflawless who went more in depth about this). Also he went to the DE to be seen and recognized for his talents - something he never was at Hogwarts so this must have felt like a big social downgrade too. He literaly stepped into his past. I mean yes he had been hired because he was competent but he was 21... and most of them were at least in their late 40s. Except for Trelawney if I'm not mistaken.

I think at first it was mostly a mix of keeping to himself and pushing through , refusing the help they provided, because he's over-independent. But Lily died and I can't imagine him not collapsing in some way.

I know it's controversial and it's me liking their chemistry on screen, but I really like the idea of him and Minerva getting along - and it might have started at that point. I like the idea of her supporting him through his grief, because Lily was part of her House and she remembered they were friends so when she mentioned it to him (as he was trying to keep it together), she said something at some point that made him crack and that's the only time she ever saw him show such raw emotions. They've been close-ish since. It still kept on being a work relationship for a long time but she weaved a bit of maternal/friendship in it (or just plain house rivalry, it keeps them on their toes)(Minerva wasn't happy to start loosing the House Cup and the Quidditch Cup but a secret part of her was happy to see he was getting invested). They take smoke breaks together.

I don't see him getting super close to his other colleagues honestly. He's recluse, he keeps to himself. He keeps it professional, doesn't like staff parties or nights out with them. But they don't hate each other either...

He gets along fine with Filius. They had a few talks about the intricacies of magic which were quite interesting - but they fundamentally don't conceptualize it in the same way (Severus thinks Filius is very talented but way too old school).

He and Pomona have a neutral but a bit strained relationship. He was a very good student in Herbology back in the days, very calm and disciplined, never afraid to get his hands dirty, so she quite liked him. But after he became the Potions Master she slowly discovered his legendary bluntness. He ruffled her feathers quite a few times because he thought that some of the ingredients she provided were not well tended for during their growth and called her work 'sloppy' and 'careless'. She got really angry and Minerva had to calm her down.

Hagrid was really gentle with him when he started teaching - which made him a bit uncomfortable but grateful in the end because the half-giant may be a bit dense but he's very genuine. They passed each other at night when Severus was walking very fast around the castle to process some feelings patrolling. When Severus came back to Hogwarts he could see the Thestrals and Hagrid never commented on it, only got gentler as they discussed the beasts needs and temper (Severus likes them, they're totally his aesthetic) Also Hagrid doesn't push conversation with him, which is nice. Severus is appalled at Hagrid's carelessness when it comes to magical creatures but also kinda understand why one could be careless with something they really love (like him with the Dark Arts).

He never interacts with Sybill if he can help it. Not only because of the prophecy business but most of all because he knows she's a phony and the only time he allowed a conversation she read his palm lines and predicted him 6 children with a bearded woman.

He has absolutely no interactions with Binns except for the few times he came across a name he didn't know in one of his Dark Arts books and took it upon himself to check if his ghost colleague had any knowledge of them. Well, turns out the History professor is an floating encyclopedia but he gets sidetracked so often (and is so boring it's ungodly) that even when desperate, Severus prefers going to Knockturn Alley during term breaks to thrift other books on the matter.

Once Charity discovered he was half-blood (why did he feel the need to make that bloody comment about phones?) she talked to him way more often because she was really happy to have another member of staff to talk about muggle stuff with. It always made him a little uncomfortable (like being put under a spotlight) but with time he stopped caring about it. But he drew a harsh line in the sand the day she asked him personal questions about his childhood in the muggle world. She took the hint but never really understood why.

He gets along okay with Sinistra. Both of them are strict teachers and they sometimes exchange tired glances during staff meetings when a colleague or Dumbledore is being insufferable. During nights out in Hogsmeade, they're often the first two to leave. She hit on him discreetly a few times and he never noticed.

He get along quite well with Septima on discipline matters since she's said to be the stricter of the teachers alongside him. She doesn't rant about the students as much as him but is a good listener when he storms in the staff room, cape billowing, and needs to spit out his annoyance. She nods and sips her tea with a grave face and provides just enough commentary and empathy to make him feel heard. If Severus works in the staff room, he likes to sit near her as he knows she won't bother him with inane chit-chat. She's clever and straight to the point, which he appreciates.

Poppy and him go along well. She's the most maternal of them all towards him and he stopped trying to stop her because she's way too stubborn (and also not technically a colleague so it's okay). She confronted him about avoiding the infirmary when he was a student - which made him very tense - but she didn't outwardly show pity. They work very efficiently and communicate well about the infirmary needs regarding potions as both of them care a lot about the students well-being. Of all the staff, she's the one who knows the most how much Severus cares. She always offers him homemade sweets at Christmas and it's one of the only presents he genuinely appreciates. They grew to have a lot of respect for each other.

Weirdly enough, Severus goes along quite well with Argus because they both despise the students and can rant about them to each others for hours. When they come across each other at night in the castle they grumble and insult them for twenty good minutes, exchanging the latest stories and then go on their ways. Argus really disliked the Maraudeurs too, which they bonded over (like when Severus first started as a teacher, Filch made a comment about 'these awful boys' and clearly shot him a look of gruff sympathy and that did it). Unfortunately his squib status still made him complicated to be around (the stigma is real) but I dig their rant buddies dynamic.

★ As a lot of people here on the fandom, I hc Florence as a Greengrass but she's a Ravenclaw.

★ Also Septima is a Hufflepuff bc we need more Hufflepuff rep and smart people outside of Ravenclaw.

★ Sometimes I hc them to be one year older than the Marauders but commonly I hc them as one younger.

★ Septima is only child. While Florence has two older brothers (1956 and 1959), a younger sister named Acacia (1962) and a younger sister [that I don't have a name for her] (1969).

★ Both are pureblood but their families have different lifes. Septima lives with her mother a common life. Florence's father is part of the British Ministry of Magic and has an important place on it. The Greengrass family is not part neither support the Death Eaters (like the Crouch family)

★ They both meet on their first Potions class in first year. They were Potions partners and it was like yaps (Septima) and listen (Florence)

★ Florence looks like a princess, she has the manners, she was taught to not laugh or talk. She knows sewing, crocheting, baking and more "femenine tasks". Septima was surprised when she heard Florence's first laugh (even if it was too sweet and regal)

★ Septima was fascinated with crystals, she sells crystals and tell the meaning of them if you pay her. Septima's first gift to Florence was a rose quartz bracelet; the self love crystal. Florence always wore it and after years she learned to love herself.

- Regardless of wheter you think Panda is a light blonde or a dirty blonde you have both version in both fancast. Also, regardless of wheter you think she's a rosier, a malfoy, a lestrange, an ollivander, a muggleborn, a pureblood, a halfblood, you can agree, she is a lovegood. Same with her husband.

- i prefer Elle Fanning is she's a Malfoy or a Rosier and Kathryn if she's an Ollivander, a halfblood or a muggleborn. I dont really enjoy Lestrange Panda as much as the others (and in truth, i only tolerate Rosier Panda cuz Elle Fanning Panda and Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen Evans is a damn good casting).

- Panda is not a Luna copy, put some respect on that mad cientist woman name and respect her fathers whimsy. If one of the two was going to be a cassandra nightmare procecies ridden it would be Xeno. Panda would be the one to hear them and record them. But no, Xeno is far far away from being a prophetress maiden with tears on his lashes and long shiny hair. No, that position is already filled by Panda's roomate (OMG THEY WERE ROOMMATES) Sybill Trelawney. Talk about the devil and she shall appear:

Sybill Trelawney & Greta Catchlove

- Sybill got left in the altar by her long term *cheating* boyfriend Jonathan Higglebottom. Only she would manage to not only get in love but also LEFT and cheated on by a man with the last name HIGGLEBOTTOM. He claims it was bcs she refused to change her last name (her millenary legacy btw) but that's just an excuse (although it did bother him), he was mostly scared at first that she was crazy when she started to get more heavy talking about prophecies and when he saw "shit, she's an actual prophet" he got even more scared, specially bcs she got targeted by the death eaters (not that they ever managed to tell voldy the prophet was SYBILL, they just got tasked with finding the prophet and got killed before managing to do or say anything.

- He "escaped" Sybill with the help of a close female friend, whether he actually cheated or it was another lie is supposed to be vague on purpose, you never know wheter he actually did it or not to add to the injury. He did love Sybill though and also had a crush on his friend at the same time, and if not for her (and him) being targeted personally by the DE, even if still in war, he would have married her and taken her name, yes, he got upset, yes, they had bad fights, yes, he said stuff he shouldnt have but in the end he would have PROPERLY apologized and would have long happy marriage.

- Both Hogwarts profesors at last. Concordia is from Harry Potter: Magic Awakened and in the official wiki says: "Concordia was born into the Rowle family before or during the 20th century" so i added her.

- there is also other Rowles but i imagine all of them being cousins rather than siblings. Funny how Concordia is a Ravenclaw and yet the founders namesake, Rowena Rowle is not.

Bertham Aubrey & Gilderoy Lockhart

- ik canonically Lockfart is 2 years younger and the same year as Barty Crouch Jr. but since most people make him the same age (or just a prodigy that skipped years) i thought it would be funny to do the same with Lockedfart who's just bullshitting his way through life and has no fucking idea how exactly he managed to skip TWO YEARS of his education par on with fucking Crouch prodigy that has 12 OWLs on his sleeve by graduation (a feat only Voldy & Hermione have done aside from him i think).

- Barty found it funny at first when he kept acing the test considering he's just a fraud but when the veredict was dome that they both would be transfered to an higher class he started panicking, bcs wdym the court jester actually made it? WDYM. Hates Lochness now. Who thrives with his little comments by making him appear as just a jealous little guy. Barty officially became the Lex Luthor to Gilded Locks fake ass fraud superman's self and everyone just eats it up. Those who dont just enjoy seeing Barty get a lick of his own mediciny comsjdering he annoys everyone

- i was tempted to put tomato chamey as diggle for giggles and shit but i resisted. Ive also seen Dylan O'brien as him but as much as Kit Young and the other actors have their charm i am not thinking "wow Dylan O'brien" everytime i think of the character. I think that Dedalus is a mix of Willy Wonka & The mad hatter but there was not way i was putting Johnny Deep in here.

Wendy Slinkhard & Primrose (Jorkins)

- Since Eleanor is also a Lily Fancast & Ciara is also the fancast for another character i decided to add Emma Stone, who usually i feel has a face too modern but honestly after seeing her pictures for hours i think it works its just the styling thats usually more modern. Same for Madeline. I was there for when she was in stranger things and i think it can work, i added Willow from the hunger games cuz i coudnt resist.

- I know i added Minnie Mills as one of the Emmeline Vance fancast but i also said it was only so the people who see the post know other fancast. To me, Minnie Mills has never been Emmeline.

- And yes, that is the Devil from The Bible™ *cough cough* i mean, Aemond from hotd. Love Evans though, great actor, truly made me hate the character when i love him in other stuff. And yea, he looks 35 for a teenager, im trying my best, the only character witj a scar close to the eye that was not freaking Tony Montana or Nick Fury or a freaking Bond Villain was the mister mogger3000 from mixte. Im TRYING (and failing) to not fill the class with supermodels

- In my mind his hair is dark blonde but the stress from the treatment & healing + the big ass scare and seeing the scarring made him go grey (or rather, silver), early, it pretty much happened very fast cuz magic accelerated the process, probs also has a some bald spots. Didnt lose his eye but his sight was very damaged only sees shapes and colours, prefers using a patch. The accident happened around 4-5th year to me. Not too old but also not in 1 or 2 year cuz that would be to young, they are just knowing each other amd its horrible seeing a child so young go through that but people woukd have morr time to get accustomed to it bcs they barely saw him before, its more of a shock if they knew him normally for a few years before the almost death/losing an eye. People would also be harsher cuz he's more of a "young man" than a young child in their eyes and he "shouldve known betten and tought it up bcs he didnt actually lose his eye or his life"

- i like to think it was one of the marauders who saved his life, either Sirius or Remus himself, prolly both. Bcs of it was James or Peter, remus would have mentioned it at the time, James & Peter were considered self sacrificing heros, but his "dad's killer"? No way he's telling Harry, and not to mention himself, remus would never. After it was just not worth mentioning.

- And yes, Leo Ashton for a Younger Davey cuz mutherfucker Mitchells looks thirty five. They even share the same fuck ass dirty blonde bowl cut on some pics 🥲 it makes me sentimental

Kim Jena [Ye-Na] (Ms. Chang) & Lilith Molesby

Fc: Yerin Ha & Britt Robertson

- Bringing the big old guns for Lilith's face claim

- Tecnically her name is Ye-Na but since the pronunciation is pretty similar it gets translated into the "Je" sound, Cho is also often romanized as Jo so she gets called K.J by in the sport scene, bcs she's a quidditch girl, uh-huh. She's a Beater.

- She is inspired by Choi Yena from Iz*One may one of the best 4th gen girl group rest in peace, we will forever miss your bangers. She is also inspired by the character "I-Na/E-Na" from Nine Puzzles the kdrama, its super good, if you like detective stories and sherlock-watson dynamics, its a mystery crime thriller. It follows Yoon Ina whos a criminal profiler for the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's criminal analysis team who gets acussed of being a serial killer. Ina is portrayed by the incredible Kim Da-Mi who's known for Itaweon Class (Drama) and The Witch Pt.1 & Pt.2 (action/horror), another great medie.

- Her name, Kim E-Na is a tribute to the character, Yena's name and Kim Dami's surname while also being the older sister to Kim Jae from the games, and daughter of inmigrants.

- KJ is the type to be the sweetest pie to her close friends (all of her friends are close friends, she does not do casual, not in frienship not in romance, what normally would be considered an aquantaince is just a stranger she has to be polite with) and really serious with everyone else, she cannot be cracked with bad jokes, not even the marauders managed it, only her husband. This does not mean she is a "biach" like most would say, ppl simply like to say that about her because she does not bow to the custom that women have to bent over backwards and be always the smiling perfect maid. She is perfectly polite and nothing more.

- You see that little face? Yeah, she's a beast in quidditch, people genuienly almost shit their pants when she looks at them with that cutie cockatiel face.

- Played after graduation for a few years in minor leagues but retired pretty soon cuz although she loves it, it wasnt her true passion. She just had an obsession for a while. Loves training other people though, and she's very good at it.

Older Ravenclaws

- Millicent was in her 7th hear when the marauders where in their 1st year (she cant be their age or she woukd have been elected for minister as soon as she was out of hogwart, no amount of glaze to ravenclaw will make me do that in my hc)

- Septima Vector & Bathsheda Babbling were 2 years older than the marauders & had a rivalry going on in my hc.

- Irma Pince had just graduated before the marauders started. Becomes the librarian apprendice right after graduation (she was already learning when she wss in hogwarts) & replaces the old librarian in the marauders 4th year. Just before they become animsgus, it was a very stressful year for Irma.
