World SBK considering a Return to Sepang for 2027
World SBK is set to unveil its 2027 calendar, and one of the biggest surprises could be the return of the Sepang International Circuit. Sepang last hosted a World SBK round in 2016.
With the expected removal of Phillip Island from the calendar in the coming years, it has become clear to the championship's promoters that the series has become too heavily centred around Europe. As a result, they are looking to expand the championship's global presence once again, with Sepang emerging as one of the leading candidates.
However, this is not the only reason behind the proposed return. Petronas, which supplies fuel for the championship, is also the event's main sponsor and is reportedly willing to reduce the cost of supplying fuel to help make a race at Sepang financially viable.
Sepang has a lot to live up to this year...

Hello everyone ! Sepang is back !!! People who know me irl know how much I LOVE Sepang. It is one of my fav tracks ever and a few of my fav races were the Malaysian gps (2008,2009,2011,2012) . Although i must admit, I am upset about them still calling it the Bahrain gp.
This calls for a special post on my bmw sauber blog since one of bmw sauber's main sponsors was Petronas, and because of the sponsorship tie with Petronas, Bmw sauber had a strong connection with Malaysia in its history within the sport !! I loved the team and their activities in Malaysia. For this special day. I will post a few fun stuff from my bmw sauber archives on my second blog :]
WHY GEORGE IS GOING TO WIN IN SEPANG 2026
Ok so. Last year my grandfather passed away on Sat Oct 4.
The following day George went on to win the race in Singapore after starting from pole.
The Sepang round has just been announced. With the race taking place on Oct 4, exactly a year after my grandfathers passing.
This has to be a sign that George is going to win. Cause aint no damn way my Pops died just so George could lose!!!
Obviously glad that F1 will be held in Malaysia again but I'm still going to hate it on the principle of the track being funded by stealing oil and gas from Sabah and Sarawak in order to fulfill the dream of a geriatric who singlehandedly caused the country to be so careful centric and for that dream to fail because he cannot for the life of him be open minded
