Seollal (설날): Where the past meets the present in a bow of respect. 🇰🇷✨
In the heart of the Korean Lunar New Year, it’s not just about the food—it’s about the warmth of home and the beauty of tradition. 🏠💖
🌸 Sebaee (세배): The younger generation offers deep bows to their elders, receiving wisdom and blessings in return.
🌸 Hanbok (한복): Vibrant colors and elegant silhouettes that turn the holiday into a living painting. 🎨
🌸 Tteokguk (떡국): A delicious bowl of rice cake soup. Legend says you haven’t officially turned a year older until you’ve finished yours! 🍜🌕
Soft colors, quiet moments, and the enduring strength of family bonds. This is the magic of Seollal.

Happy Year of the Horse!
Sigurd was born Year of the Horse (my headcanon, based on calculating the zodiac animal for his birth year of 9970 🤭)
Horses evoke the image of Mongolian archers riding across the steppes underneath the eternal blue sky, and this year the Mongolian New Year coincidentally fell at around the same time as the Chinese New Year/Korean New Year, so that was the inspiration behind the drawing.
I really love how the snowy sunrise background came out.

to recognise the start of the lunar new year and seollal, i started reading i want to die but i want to eat tteokbokki by baek sehee (translated by anton hur) and watched the old woman with the knife with a few friends. the film packs an emotional and a thrilling punch, so the novel is now on my to-read list.
happy new year of the fire horse to those who celebrate!
