you and Seokminnie had a thing

it wasn’t something that was official

like you didn’t say “hey we’re dating now”

or anything like that

you just remembered falling for him

and one day you went from smiling shyly at each other from across the room

to holding hands and soft cuddles

you’re not really sure how it happened either

again there weren’t really any formalities

you both were just

in love

head over heels

hopelessly

wonderfully smitten

it was all over your faces

you remember shyly clinging to his arm when you first met his friends

all of them pleasantly surprised and at the same time not surprised that Seokmin had such a beautiful person by his side

the way he looked at you with so so much love in his eyes

when he made you laugh

only he knew how to get your side aching from a cheesy pun or impersonation

only him

the way he would hold you after a long day

and smile at you with that beautiful smile you wanted to see on him everyday

and he adored you

always talking about you to people

and always holding your hand no matter where you went

it was perfect

you loved each other so much

there was one little tradition the both of you had

you don’t really know how it started

but every friday

you’d pack in a little basket

juice, sandwiches, cookies

all the food

some days it’d be food from some far off country

exotic herbs and seasonings

and some days it’d be home food, comfort food

or some fridays he’d pack it

and then

hand-in-hand

the both of you would grab a blanket

and head over to the nearby park

the one hill on the farthest west side

the one with the huge magnolia tree standing upon it

and you’d lay out the blanket

and share the food

and then

talk

or read

or sing

or listen to music

or laugh

anything

that hill was your spot

the both of you quietly claiming this corner of the universe

you wanted to carve your names onto the magnolia tree

but he said that’d be mean to the tree (>^<)

so the both of you ended up settling for scratching your names onto a rock

little hearts next to your initials

and placing the rock at the foot of the tree

every friday was heaven

that hill was your heaven, your getaway

a beautiful spot where dreams grew

flowers always covered that hill

sometimes you’d lay in his lap staring up at the blue sky

but you would then stare at him

how beautiful he was

and think about how much you love him

the sun speckling little flecks of gold across his face

and you two would talk about anything and everything

the blanket soft and comfy

sometimes he’d lay in your lap while you read your book

or scrolled along on your phone

and he’d feel so lucky and grateful to have you

and you’d lean against his chest sometimes

while he sang a song softly

the humming from his voice sending soft vibrations down your spine

and you’d kiss his lips softly after he was done and tell him how beautiful his voice was

every friday was spent like this

comfortable

peaceful

together

watching the sun set

and then the stars finally take on the rise

late night stargazing

but the real highlight you thought

was watching the sun crest behind the horizon of the world

as the sleepy world finally darkened

that’s when you’d take his hand and journey home

of course

everyone gets busy now and then

and although sometimes you’d both decide that maybe today would be the friday to break the tradition

since you both had work to do

you’d both end up taking the trip to the park again

food in basket

hand in his hand

laying down on the blanket together

hearts together

his chin resting on your head as he held you close to him

and you both just looked up at the blue blue sky

the drifting soft white cotton clouds

the light from the sun flickering in between the large dark green leaves of the magnolia tree

it can’t be described as anything beyond ethereal

the magical feeling of being in a place where it seemed as if time slowed

and it was just you and Seokmin

soft stolen kisses everywhere

on your forehead

on his nose

in your hair

on his cheeks

serenity

that hill was indeed your slice of heaven

the both of you

and it would always be a special place to you

it was friday again

the hill was a gentle dream

lulling the both of you closer

it had been a hard week

a week filled with stress, worries and fear

a lot of things needed to be done

a lot of negative feelings had been dealt with that week

but through it all you wanted to be there for Seokminnie

hence why you packed the basket with only his favorite foods

the tangerines

the fruit and meat

only the best

as you anticipated the dream

truly

being with him felt like a dream

as if the world was a safe place

where no pain existed

where everyone was happy

that’s how he made it feel like

and his smile

more radiant than the sun

fueled this dream world

made you believe that everything could be alright

and so you gently tugged at his arm as he smiled brightly at you

you could tell he was tired

small lines were seen under his eyes

but at least for now

that could all disappear

the worries and anxiety could be dealt with later

together

because together you were both stronger

you grasped his hand as you made your way to the hill

and laid down that blanket

the little blanket that was soft

and claimed your corner of the universe

you sat

and patted the spot next to you

as you both talked and laughed and enjoyed the food

and then

you were both laying next to each other

heartbeats faintly together

as he held you in his arms

and you gently ruffled his hair

and you told him to talk

to let it all out

because you would be there for him

and you hugged him and kissed his lips reassuringly

as he told you his worries

drained all the bad

all the negative

all the worries

out

absorbed by the slice of heaven

protected and never to return

you could see him brightening

like a flower given water after wilting

you smiled brightly at the sight

and you knew it was this beautiful little thing called love that was helping him

it wasn’t just the hill

or the food and cuddles every friday

it was his love for you and in return your love for him that made it all dreamy and beautiful

he fell asleep soon after

his breathing soft and calm

radiating that glow

and you fell asleep next to him on that hill

the sun gently lowering in the sky

observing two beautiful souls together
