Hae-won (Park Min-young) is an ordinary woman who learnt to play the cello when she was young and uses her talent in hope of succeeding in the professional world. But during that time, she was hurt emotionally by others. Hae-won loses trust in people and began to close her heart to others. Sick and tired of her life in Seoul, she decides to move back to her hometown. Back there, Hae-won meets Eun-seob (Seo Kang-joon). He runs the bookshop "Goodnight Bookstore." Eun-seob's daily routine is simple. He wakes up and drinks coffee, reads a book and writes on his blog. Eun-seob's life begins to change after he meeting Hae-won.

Eun-seob’s father disappeared when he was young, so he was lonely. He didn’t even have a chance to be sad. Just lonely. He always felt like he was the only person in this world. That’s how Eun-seob became a silent thinker. Whenever he had something serious to say, he thought about it two or three times before saying it. He runs a bookstore in BukHaeon and serves customers coffee. He makes coffee and reads books in the morning. This has been Eun-seob’s everyday routine for a long time. Nothing ever changed in his diary. Eun-seob’s life became more interesting when Hae-won moved to BukHaeon.

Hae-won is an ordinary girl with no special gifts. After being hurt in professional life, she has a lot of mental scars. She put up a wall in her heart because she didn’t want to get hurt anymore. She chose not to complain, not to misinterpret kindness and not to trust smiles. Acts of kindness made her uncomfortable. Hae-won chose to be alone without letting anyone into her life.
