I'm taking Josh Clare Portrait Drawing online class on #SentientAcademy. I've always been impressed with his portraits drawings (and his landscapes paintings). Josh's focus is to draw with expressive lines. He begins with a box for the head, find the mid points to established the eyes and the rest of the features; also to sketch lightly first and then come back with accent lines. Expressive, loose lines. I paid the minimum per month. There are several videos for each lesson but the next set of videos are not available until one week later. It keeps me from going too fast and to instead digest each week's focus. Meanwhile there is homework. This week homework is to drawing quickly 10 portraits/day. This is working quite well with me. So far I had done about two days worth. I used photos from Pinterest, though Josh encouraged us to invent faces. This class comes in a time when I feel a need to be more expressive.
