Anwyay, taking these words out of OP's post to not freak them out to headcanon that Yusuke is a hater of people that he grew up around with, who also shunned him in the neighborhood. He definitely knew humans weren't all good early on, and especially because he got exposed to Sakyou and the other billionaires torturing Yukina for money.
But Yusuke meeting Sensui who wanted ALL humans dead got him like "I'm not that extreme, geez". Although it's understandable that Sesui became righteously angry and Yusuke could have agreed with his motivations, Yusuke still doesn't like how this extreme guy just has hate for the rest of humanity.
So Yusuke was in his best behavior for like a whole arc before he was like "I'll forcefeed you 2-3 humans as snacks if you don't convince me why you're starving to death" to his kinda-dad.
