Fuckless Adventure #20, Third Act of Kindness (16/20): I’ve been stuck at home due to a fibromyalgia flare and have been getting behind in the homestretch of my Adventures, but today one fell into my lap when someone actually needed me to be around the house all day. Mattress signed for and roommate relieved! It was nice to feel useful despite being a whimpering blob the last 5 days. (I feel like I did get more good hours in today though, hopefully this flare’s coming to an end. 🤞 #sendjuju) . I’m testing out my beloved book baby, How I Lost All My F-cks. When I was in middle school I read V.C. Andrews books, anyone remember those? In one of them the protagonist feels deeply connected to the weather — feeling low energy when it was grey, and luminous when it was sunny. I remember relating to her for it, then kind of laughing at myself for being dramatic. But I continued to notice the weather’s affect on my physical well being, what I now know were likely early signs of stinkin’ fibromyalgia. • The clouds here have cleared and I can hardly feel my bones, the screaming has ceased to a dull roar. (Gah I was dealing with that every day before!) Weather changes in any direction tend to zap my energy, but I still took a lil’ field trip between freelancing and errands to check out a free museum and Japanese Garden here in Torrance. It was awesome. • I really hope I get the room in the art community, I feel super inspired to paint after today’s adventure. I haven’t picked up a paintbrush since I lost my Oregon apartment last July! FAR too long. I do digital work, but I need to get good and messy. A cop scared the living bejeezus out of me earlier. I was lying in the backseat of my car, resting (#iliveinmycar, #fibromyalgia), when a bright flashing light started strobing at me and finally a voice said, “Are you okay?” And I waved and then they left all speedy, that’s when I saw that it was a cop car. I had no idea who it was trying to see me! I felt like I was going to vomit my heart right out of my chest. Frights and a comprised nervous system are a painful combo.
