There were, in Yagi Toshinori's opinion, many reasons to hate winter- even more so since he dropped all his weight and felt the cold all the more keenly.

Thus, he was cranky and irritated as he entered his lair- there was an enchantment that kept out most of the cold, but it had been set when he himself was a living furnace... meaning, it wasn't warm enough for him now.

He untied the snowshoes that the Knight had jury-rigged together for him and padded softly down the steps. He shucked off his heavy woolen outerwear and left them to dry on the coat rack, before making his way to the fire pit.

And there, he beheld a truly beautiful sight.

Seluna, in her giant wolf form, was curled up near the fire pit, in the part of nest they'd collapsed to be closer to the fire for the winter. She seemed to be fast asleep, and her fur looked so soft and fluffy...

Carefully and quietly, he approached, then knelt at her side, before giving into the urge to press his face- and the entire front of his body- into her fur.

She was so warm. Toshi was in heaven. He decided, right then and there, he was never getting up. In record time, he was fast asleep.

His head was wet. Something warm, and wet, and textured swept over his hair and left it wet- and suddenly, he's a child again, being washed and groomed by his mother. His tail thwapped from side to side, annoyed, and he let out an irritated noise that sounded strange to his half asleep mind.

He raised his head-

-Only to be licked, from chin to horns, by Seluna.

His face scrunched up.

She let out a huff that he knew from experience was laughter, and he sighed as he wiped his face off with his sleeve.

"Yes, yes, good afternoon to you too," he grumbled, until Seluna nudged his head in the direction of the mouth of the cavern; it was very much night, and not afternoon. Almost sheepishly, he asked, "...Oh, I slept quite a while, didn't I? Sorry, I just... I like being close to you. You're warm."

Seluna seemed almost surprised by this, then relaxed and moved her head back in- at first, Toshi thought she was going to nudge him again, but then... she nuzzled him instead.

It was sweet, and affectionate, and given Seluna's current size, it was enough to push him back down. He couldn't help but laugh, and press a kiss to her snout.

Once she'd finished, he asked, "Is it alright...can we stay like this for a little while longer?"

The two spent the night like that, sleeping peacefully by the fire. Warm and content, Toshinori figured he couldn't be too upset about the cold, especially if it meant he could have moments like this.

LORD I meant to reply to these AGES ago and they slipped my mind. I wanted to give some time to reply thoughtfully XD

This world seems to have some interesting gods, and that’s drawing me in. Could be interesting to play a character that has absolute blind faith in something since that’s very different from me. What race should I pick? These godlike look so awesome, but maybe that would be too awesome. I should maybe pick something a bit more... realistic? In this fantasy game of wondrous things that I am playing for my own entertainment? Wait a minute, this is a random negative thought that is trying to make me feel embarrassed about my building excitement, isn’t it? Well nobody invited you and now I’m going to pick a godlike just to spite you. Green nature and celestial spacey stuff are two of my absolute favourite aesthetics, but I guess a shiny moon fits the shiny god of light a bit better so let’s go with that. Oh gosh these are a lot of backgrounds to choose from. But Aedyr’s the only one that lets me have a clergy background, so let’s do that. And then... oh no. Every time. Every damn time I get swept up in the excitement of making a new character and somehow always completely forget that I’m going to be asked to name them. Uhhhh... [hours pass on various baby naming websites] Screw it, I don’t know enough about this character or the naming conventions of this world yet, let’s just slap two moon names together and call it a day. And thus Seluna is born.
