often I wish people saw my f/os outside of their “pairing” with other characters and wish they could see how cool and interesting they are by themselves
for example Flo is an incredibly important character in tf2, she’s the one who keeps the whole war alive and makes sure none of the mercenaries get caught for their literal war crimes. She is incredibly devoted to her job and her boss, the administrator, who she puts herself in great danger for in order to help preserve her life. She is selfless and extremely brave, yet for some reason (misogyny probably) she gets ignored when it comes to discussions in the fandom, even though she is the main character of the comics and one of the mentally strongest characters. Yet because she is a woman and unplayable nobody cares. And most of the time when they do agknoledge her, it’s only in her relationship with scout, where he has a one sided crush on her. They were never a couple and will never be, as scout has moved on and Pauling is pretty much a lesbian. She’s so freaking cool I just wish others would understand that
same with pucci, while he does have a little bit more of a fanbase, some of them mischaracterize him to all hell. Especially when it comes to his relationship with DIO, which was never intended to be romantic as araki himself said ‘Pucci loves DIO like how he loves god’ (paraphrasing). Also yall forget that DIO quite literally groomed pucci.
DIO used Pucci’s faith, Sister’s suicide, family drama, and vulnerability as a black man in the south in order to manipulate him into serving him. Also Pucci was a teenager when they met, furthering the weirdness. Pucci is such an interesting character, I think weather report (his twin) states it best, he refers to him during his final battle as “the kind of evil that doesn’t realize its evil”. Pucci is a prime example of how religion can be used to justify horrific actions, as all the atrocities pucci commits are in (what he believes) good faith and to bring humanity to the new heaven. He genuinely does this out of “care” for humanity. Pucci is also an incredibly devoted character, his devotion and care for others around him is what led to his unfortunate service to DIO. I wish more people could see how his care was corrupted and exploited, rather than just labeling him as DIOs dickrider
