It really does take its toll sometimes, not being able to escape the constant reminders of how sincerely hated and resented neurodivergent people are, autistics especially. Sometimes the weight of it physically knocks me down, and I guess this is just one of those times. It doesn't matter very much that it isn't directed at me personally. Most of the time people have no idea that they're even talking about very characteristically autistic traits, but it's the same stuff every time. Of course there's no point telling them that, it will just be dismissed as projection. Pushing back takes too much, and staying quiet takes too much.
The anger is so righteous and empowered; so may people feel truly wronged by our existence and owed infinite apologies and gratitude for allowing it. They don't feel any need to hide their contempt. They hate us. They hate us, and at the same time we don't exist. I've become pretty good at cultivating my little corner of the internet, but you never know when one more scroll is going to shove it in your face again, or how nasty it's going to be this time. Sometimes even I'm surprised at how blatantly cruel an average person will allow themselves to be if they're pretty sure they'll get away with it.
I can feel the physical weight of being carried in my bones like it's calcifying there, and I really do mean that. Every so often I feel too heavy and dense with it to move, and I just have to be still until I can lift myself again. And the people who are doing it, it's nothing to them - forgotten about in a second and denied forever. The public figures who get subjected to this on a large scale, when it doesn't kill them, you can see over time the sacrifice that it's taking to survive. If you care to notice, you can see it. Inevitably, it catches up with you. It catches up with you no matter who you are.
I made this compilation of kid-friendly Ween songs for a friend's 8 and 10 year old kids, but I'm 36 and I just had a great time listening to it again. Track listing below the cut. 🤎
Gonna leave this blog alone for a while. Please dig through my archive, use my gifs, reblog everything forever etc. I'll be around. Weener love. 🤎
“This so-called fandom is so basic and dumb, no one does anything creative anymore.”
*someone does or says something unusual*
“What the fuck even is this shit??? OP take your meds and stop ruining everything, this is why nobody likes us."

I think most of the people I interact with online understand better than I do that “straight until proven queer” is not a neutral stance, but some of you still seem to think that “neurotypical until proven neurodivergent” (and by extension “abled until proven disabled”) somehow is neutral. I'm no expert, but I know this: if you can’t begin to deconstruct these ideas and understand how they are the same, your politics will continue to creep towards the reactionary, and you will keep working against your own interests. And you can’t “prove” disability anyway, any more than you can prove queerness. It comes down to who is believed, and who isn’t.
I know the selfish entitled behavior of Ween fans isn't fundamentally any different from fandom bullshit anywhere else, but it does need to be remembered how much harm has been done to these guys by their fans over the years. They're still picking up the pieces now. And you can say "well it wasn't me", but you're choosing to be a part of this community now, be responsible for what you put into it. You know who you are.
Ween 2.0 (Live 2016 - 2023) fan compilation
Inspired by this epic live Ween compilation, I present my shorter and significantly lower-effort fan comp.
I made this about a year ago and forgot about it until now. After making a few minor tweaks, I’m actually really pleased with the way it came together.
This is Ween 2.0, a small selection of some of my personal favorite live recordings from 2016 - 2023. It’s just a short love letter from me to the reborn Ween. Hope you enjoy it.
