As a queer author can i just say, relying on search terms on a platform is a fool's errand. Your priority should be adding relevant tags and search terms to aggregators and rating sites like romance io and TheStoryGraph and reccing works to readers through socials
Word of mouth > blind search
Queer content may be hidden or shadowbanned, it also might just be overwhelmed by more popular authors and algorithmically popular works. Specificity is your friend but searching for specifics on [website that sells books] is less likely than finding specifics on [book rating site] or [social media]
I try not to be too much of a bitch about these things but as a creator you do kind of have to be savvy. You cannot just put good tags on your book and wait for people to find it on websites that sell hundreds of thousands of books. That's not organic, that's passive, and a little bit silly.
