The more time that passes, the more I choose myself

Sometimes I catch myself avoiding people for no real reason. I’ll walk the other way, stay quiet, or keep my distance.. even when a part of me actually wants to be there? Deep down I know why I do it. I’m scared that if people really see me, they won’t like who I am. And that thought sits in my head so often that it starts to feel true. I wish I could just be normal about it, just talk to people without overthinking every little thing i hate it. But insecurity has this way of slowly convincing you that you don’t belong anywhere… like you’re always the extra person in the room that no one really needs
