Preparation vs Paranoia in Martial Arts
How much self-protection is enough before it starts running your life? Martial artists face that tension more than most people, because training can build calm or feed worry, depending on how it’s framed. The goal of self-protection isn’t fearlessness. It’s being ready, making sound choices, and living normally without feeling exposed all the time. The line gets clearer when you ask one simple…

Should Women Be Trained to Defend Themselves?
Today, I want to share an opinion—not because I think I have all the answers, but because I believe it's a conversation worth having.
I believe every woman should have access to self-defense education. Self-defense is not about promoting violence; it's about survival. It teaches awareness, confidence, and the ability to protect yourself when there is no other choice.
I also believe there should be strong legal protection for women who legitimately act in self-defense. If a woman is attacked and uses necessary force to save her own life—even if the attacker dies as a result—the law should recognize the difference between self-defense and criminal violence. Every case should still be investigated fairly, but genuine self-defense should never be treated the same as murder. The law should protect victims who survive, not punish them for fighting to stay alive.
This also made me think about military service. In countries like South Korea, most men are required to complete military service, while women can volunteer but are generally not have to serve. That raises an interesting question: if national defense is considered a civic duty, should that responsibility be shared equally by both men and women?
I'm not suggesting that countries need separate armies for women. Instead, I believe women should have equal opportunities to receive defense training, whether through military service, national service, or community self-defense programs. The more prepared people are, the safer society becomes.
At the end of the day, my point is simple: women deserve the knowledge to defend themselves, and they deserve laws that recognize the reality of fighting for their lives. Protecting yourself from an immediate threat should never become another injustice.
What do you think? Should self-defense training become a normal part of education? And should the law provide clearer protection for women who legitimately defend themselves?

RLAC Case Law Interpretation: R -v- Vickrum Singh Digwa
The Raghukul Law Advisory Committee’s Interpretation of Self-Defence and Dutiful Righteousness (Dharma). The case of Vickrum Singh Digwa and the death of Henry Nowak cannot be understood only through the cold language of English criminal law. It cannot be reduced to a narrow question of who moved first, who held a phone, who carried a blade and who was later believed by the court. The Raghukul…
Surviving a Home Invasion
Nobody wants to imagine strangers inside their home at night. Still, planning for it is like fitting a seatbelt, you hope you never need it, but you’ll be glad it’s there. In Australia, official survey data shows about 2% of households experienced a break-in in a year, and another 2% faced an attempted break-in. In Victoria, the risk can feel even sharper, with aggravated burglaries rising in…
