yeesh - regular animals got the corruption treatment to - I'd assume the only thing the corruption influences is the enhanced instincts?

fair concern but... I don't think we can? back when the giant building was sprouting out of the ground when coral corrupted the tree, i tried to dive in a pile of corrupted goop to try and get teal out of it but, when the cloaked figure pulled me out, I was fine? and teal was still corrupted so I think we're immune, at least to some extent
"Maybe...? Most triangles require someone actively trying to corrupt it, but a lot of corrupted shapes will go after triangles regardless of a triangle's sentience, I'd think."
Eyes peer from the fog, corrupted beast of water eyeing the group and the triangles. "Hold on tight!"
Seile warns once, before darting to the left, avoiding the jaws of something large and pink. It doesn't seem incredibly aggressive, giving up soon after.
"These fellas don't seem all there. We best be keepin' an eye out regardless, however."

They slide further into the water, and wait for the others to join them. Amber's the only one who doesn't hesitate.

Seile shuffles their coat closer, and dives straight into the water. Moments later, a behemoth of a creature shakes itself, peering down at them.
"YOU'RE A FOCKEN SELKIE??? COOL AS SHIT"
"Terrifying and gorgeous."

ah... sooo uuhh we were with coral and teal for a bit - teal wanted you guys to know that he feels fine, though the corruption subtly impairs their ability to try and sabotage it, same with coral and uh... coral wanted to apologize for all the previous stuff
Amber nods, and walks over to the group, who stand up.
"Good to know they're at least trying..."
"I think we might have an advantage overall. Coral and Teal might not be able to do anything much while they're both corrupted--but they give us an information advantage. We know where one of the parts of the tree is---on the volcano over there. It showed up, and the rain started.
If they can find the other triangles, and relay that information through you---then we're one step closer to fixing this mess."
"So it's to the volcano, not the mainland, then?"
"Sounds like it."
"Aye. You ready?"
"Maybe. I really don't want to swim right now... But we've gotta get there somehow."
"You won't be swimmin. I will. ...As long as that triangle's magic can keep up with the waters."
"It should. What do you mean?"
"Jus' watch." They beckon everyone to the edge of the water, and all three triangles are set up to add to the spell that nullifies the corruption.
