i’ve made a couple of these posts over the years, but the time seemed right for a new one. i’m an english/language arts education grad student working 3 jobs, and next semester i’ll be student-teaching, meaning that, in addition to paying for school, i’ll be losing out on the majority of my income.

my situation is not as dire as those of many other people i’ve seen on tumblr asking for help, so i don’t feel comfortable asking for donations. however, i do need as much extra income as i can get right now to build up a cushion for when i begin student-teaching.

i have experience as a freelance editor and proofreader, and i’ve worked on content from original fiction, to college admissions essays, to doctoral dissertations. additionally, i’ve been commissioned to write material ranging from fanfic, to poetry, to resume cover letters.

writing commissions are incredibly flexible (including erotica/smut, so long as it is within my comfort zone), barring content that is triggering and/or offensive. feel free to ask for specifics if you’re unsure, but please understand that my boundaries are non-negotiable. regarding editing specifically, my usual procedure is to leave detailed comments within the work through google docs, offering my suggested changes and then explaining my reasoning. i strive to be as transparent as possible throughout the process, making sure the writer’s intentions are not obscured or diminished by my edits.

i can’t offer a very accurate price estimate, as i determine how much to charge based on a number of factors, including the service being rendered, the length of the work, the amount of time allotted to finish the project, and the budget of the client in question. i will work with you to set a price on which we can both agree, so that i can be fairly compensated for my time and effort while ensuring that my services are still affordable.
