So I’ve been a part of Influenster, a company that allows me to sample and test free products, and they recently sent me a Maybelline VoxBox of the Better Skin Superstay foundations to sample and test for three weeks. I’m currently in the middle of week 2, so I’m posting some of my thoughts on the product so far. 

  1. First Impressions: First off, I realized that the tone they sent me (tone no.90/Warm Honey) was a little too light for my skin; but not dramatically enough so that I couldn’t wear it. This was a little disappointing because it just meant I HAD to wear face powder with it, in the middle of a NYC heat wave. All the same, I didn’t see too much variability in the darker tones available, which was also kind of a let down in case I wanted to buy this product in the the future. 

2. Wearability: Even with the layers of makeup on my face and the constant transition between 65 and 105 degree weather, this make up lasted pretty nicely all day, and also managed to let my skin breathe. Considering I sweat a lot on my face in the summer, I was very glad for this feature. In addition, I noticed that I didn’t have to cake on this foundation- something I found helpful for the heat as well as the slight difference in coloration to my actual skin tone. In addition, I loved that this product has built in SPF, which completely rules out a step in my face routine that I honestly don’t acknowledge as much as I should.
