Secretkeeper & Moon • I understand theres a lot of reasonable hate for Secretkeeper but!!! I find her & moon to be a very fascinating pair! To make a long ass thought short, I think Secretkeeper is the embodiment of “product of her environment & deeply traumatize & projecting”. I think she genuinely really loves moon but obviously expresses that through being “”protective””. But I think shes genuinely a character with a capacity for change & realizing the autonomy Moon has over her own powers. Also from the perspective of Moon I think her arc around her relationship with her mom could be really interesting, especially as Secretkeepers authority becomes challenged in Moons life & she has to confront the bullshit her mother has put her through. Overall very very interesting pair I think about them a lot.
Design Note: Secretkeeper is duller in color than Moon & has less stars due to lack of moon light on the island! Also the scales around her mouth are almost completely black, making her mouth barely visible, giving her the name “Secretkeeper” as she “has no mouth to tell others secrets.”
Tsunami & Starflight • Just one of my fav siblings! This specific illustration is from the Arena Scene in Dragonet Prophesy! I really really love Tsu & Starflights dynamic of looking up to eachother & their development together just. So neat!
Design Note: Starflight has very few constellation marks in this illustration as he hasnt spent much time under moonlight quite yet!
Shark & Abalone • One of my more out-there ships! I based this on the thought that Shark was once close with Abalone (cough. Husbands.) and that relates to why he was willing to give Tortoise a lunch-break from watching the eggs. He already saw someone close to him die from being overworked to watch the clutch, he didn’t want to watch another dragon die from his sisters selfishness. I could write an essay on these two I swear
Deisgn Note: Shark is based on a tiger shark & abalone is based on real abalones! hes one of my fav designs here
Six-Claws & Ostrich • He’s just a sweet dad! the little we see of him he seems to really love her & vice-versa <3 they’re just neat
Design Note: Six-Claws is based on a king cobra & is a specific sub-“species” of hooded Sandwings ! Burn found his hood mutation & six-claws super interesting
Tamarin & Pike • My fav background friendship! They’re just fun. I like Pike just chillin out around Tamarin & describing flower colors to her to the best of his ability (she just likes to hear him ramble about a shared interest)
Design Notes: I updated how I draw Tamarins eyes to properly resemble a blind-born dragon ! Also Pike’s deisgn got some yellow in it and I really like it <3
Whiteout & Thoughtful • I just think they’re neat!! They just seem like a sweet pair love them
Design Note: none really! Just experimenting with a rando Thoughtful design that I tossed together for my “ships tier list”
Tsunami • Its just her :) my fav dragon <3!!! I definitely dont think she upholds the “princess” title once she gets older, her only link to the throne is by Coral insisting monthly visits but Tsu otherwise wouldn’t be any interesting in royal life I would imagine
Design Note: Shes caught a waaururrghh something im going bonkers I cant remember what fish that is and my reference photo seems to have dissipated into the cosmos
Anemone • I LOVE HER. SO MUCH ! Anemone haters BACK OFF!!!! Her relationship to her powers is so fucked man. Something you’d think would give her power & control is just a key by which others use to manipulate and abuse her like . Man :( shes literally never had any autonomy over her own identity & intermingled her powers into her identity So Much only for that aspect of herself to also be revealed to be a facade for someone else’s desires like. GUH I love her so much I hope shes having a good day I dont care what anyone says she deserves to be a brat and I support her for it
Design Note: none really! The stars in her talons are just metaphorical though
Snowflake & Snowfox • THE OGS!!!!!! MY FAVORITE PROBLEMATIC LESBIANS <3 Ahhh remember in the early days when they were considered the #1 most problematic ship because they were gay and also evil. I love the evil lesbians so much they’re so shitty sorry Darkstalker Snowfox should’ve been queen I would’ve loved to see that go down it’d be so silly
Design Notes: Snowfox is based on an arctic fox shedding into their summer coat!! I know its p . Away from canon descriptors of her but it was sm fun to illustrate so shhh <3 Snowflake is just grey & blueish per-canon but shes sooo fun. love her.

Vertin's Ear
There's a group of gossipers and secret seekers inside the Suitcase: Onion, TTT, and Bkornblume. They know EVERYONE'S business and talk about it amongst each other. However, Bkornblume is actually a double agent. She secretly relays the information she gathers back to Vertin. This is one of the ways Vertin keeps tabs on what's going on in the Suitcase from things the kids want to potentially dangerous projects from the Laplce members. They are in cahoots!
Listener
Bkornblume has a lot in common with Vertin since they are both rebellious figures in their organizations. They both want to help people but are forced to fight against systems much bigger than them. This understanding leads them to confide in one another. Firstly it's mostly about their struggles for justice but slowly they begin sharing their personal hardships with one another. Bkornblume knows Vertin will protect her secrets and vice versa.
However, sometimes Bkornblume is caught off guard by how honest and straightforward Vertin is about things that most people would be too embarrassed to talk about once they get really comfortable with each other.
Body Language
Bkornblume's ability let's her hear things most people can't, but she and Vertin are still very cautious about whispering. They have their own code that uses gestures to convey short message from across the room. Examples:
Lip bite: hostiles nearby.
Touch throat: Target spotted
Small salute: allies/backup arrived
Rub back of neck: retreat
Trace jaw: escape route
As their relationship deepens, they create their own system they use in their day to day lives:
Two fingers stroke inside the other's palm: are you ok? Replying with a squeeze means "yes" and pulling back means "no".
Pinky hug: want to get out of here? - this is one they created to use when one of them gets tired or overstimulated at an event.
Nibble: I'm getting food. –they use this when they don't want the others to overhear or else they'll all want a piece. It looks like they're whispering to each other from the outside.
Two shoulder squeezes: we'll talk more later.– usually happens when they are interrupted during a serious conversation.
Love for the little things
Bkornblume and Vertin have an appreciation for the little mundane things in their every day lives. Vertin let's her Smoltin side show more when she is with Bkornblume. She shows off her pebbles or her most recent catch. Bkornblume listens to Vertin talk about her frogs, pebbles, and other treasures. She cherishes all things Vertin brings her, but she also notices something off about Vertin.
Vertin acts like Bkornblume is doing her a favor by showing interest in her hobbies and wants to pay her back in some way, usually in expensive dinners or gifts. Bkornblume explains that she is happy and grateful that Vertin shares this part of life with her. Its not a task or burden on her. She enjoys it. In fact, she looks forward to it.
Despite saying she understands, Vertin starts doing more things for her. She dedicated an entire island in the Wilderness covered in kornblumes to her.
Bkornblume is moved but also knows she has to confront Vertin again to make sure she understands. This time Vertin says it's just "because she wants to." Vertin's affection towards Bkornblume grew after their heart to heart. Because of her upbringing in the Foundation, she expresses her love by providing. She keeps giving and giving because she's grown up having things constantly taken from her.
Bkornblume figures out that this is Vertin's way of loving her and she embraces it by making demands Vertin can fulfill. Little things like asking for a cup of tea or to read her a poem to satisfy Vertin's need to do things for her. This way Vertin won't burn herself out with her over the top gestures and she gets to spend more time with her. Vertin also looks so pleased with herself when she completes a task for Bkorn and it's adorable. Although, she wishes Vertin would be more greedy. In monkey paw fashion she learned Vertin can be greedy when she wants to, she just hadn't realized it yet. Skip over several steps: "Do things for becomes Bkornblume" becomes "Do Bkornblume" lmao. The trauma and the need for skinship show manifest in interesting ways.
Gun
Bkornblume is impressed by Vertin’s marksmanship but also wishes neither of them had to wield a gun. The two can be found practicing together at the range in the Suitcase (I made that up but with all the gun owners in the Suitcase Vertin should have a shooting range set up).
Sleepwear
Bkornblume alternates between an oversized t-shirt and shorts or a robe at bed. Vertin sometimes steals one of her shirts to sleep in. Seeing how comfy Vertin is in causal clothes instead of the Foundation issued pajamas gives her the idea to go shopping with Vertin for new pajamas.
This ends in Vertin finding a pair of Carbuncle printed shorts in a bargain bin. At first Bkorn thinks they're cute and silly. However that night she realizes the shorts fit Vertin a little too well. She can't stand those shorts. They've become her new weakness she can't deny Vertin anything in her Carbuncle shorts. Meanwhile, Vertin notices this but thinks it's because her shorts are "lucky".
