11 for the ask meme! Whatβs going through each characterβs head in this moment?
Ooo! Excellent question! I'll be answering this for my wip Secondary, with some of my beloved OCs of all time:
Ashlyn: this is the best day of her life. She's still running off the adrenaline high from almost dying, and she's realizing she might become a bit of a junkie. She just met people with wings and found out that her best friend is basically the chosen one (narrator: he's not. He's just one of a few people with an awesome amount of power) and as far as she's concerned this means she gets to learn magic as well. She just learned magic is REAL. She can't wait to go explore.
Liam: so much social anxiety. He really wants to help these people but he also just went through a traumatic experience and really wants to go home. They keep telling him he's the only one who can help them and he can't bring himself to say no completely, though.
Deshan: Kind of annoyed with everything, but doing his best to act professional anyway. He has a reputation to live up to, and he WILL prove himself to be a good leader. Part of politics is getting a bunch of people you don't like to do what you want and to work together. He can handle this, and he'll get this kid to protect Divum.
Quain: A little bit annoyed by the new kids (Ashlyn and Liam) and a lot a bit annoyed by Deshan, who, despite ASKING him to fly the airship, hasn't even acknowledged his existence. Some older brother. Viveca seems fine, and Lysander seems like more trouble than he's worth, but before Liam is trained, Lysander is the best bet they have. He is having fun showing off his inventions, though.
Viveca: Thinks Deshan is a massive piece of work, and is very concerned about the moral implications of getting Liam to join them. He's just a kid, her own age even, and she's under enough stress already. She can't imagine the amount of stress HE would be under. Quain is being a pushover and Ashlyn doesn't understand what's at stake. She feels like she's the only voice standing up for what's right.
Lysander: Doesn't want to be here. Doesn't want anyone to be here. Doesn't want to train Liam, but he kind of has to, because he's the only other sideralis left. And, while he hates to admit it, he can see Iris in Liam's eyes, and he does NOT want to deal with that.
