With Dorian, there’s many scenarios where your hands are full/carrying stuff. You can’t really close any doors without struggling. So, when you started to use your hips to shut them, Dorian lets out a soft grunt, light pink dusting his cheeks. He understands the struggle… but it doesn’t leave him any less flustered— feeling your hips collide against him.

Same thing can be applied to Washford and Cabrizzo. For Washford, it’s when you empty out the wet clothes and throwing them into Drysale— absentmindedly hitting your hips/waist/leg against his opening. And since it needs to lock in place, you press against him just hard enough to hear a click. In this position, your skin is unintentionally pressing against his chest. He hums. It would be quite easy for him to reach and guide you in a much different position. It sends his mind racing, that’s for sure.

Cabrizzio, on the other hand, gets the full body experience. Literally LMAO. If you’re crouching down to rummage through pots, you use your shoulder/back/ass to shut the cabinet. Wanting to close a drawer cabinet while occupied? You’ll use your hip, turn to the side, or lift a leg. It’s amusing to him how you’ll use any body part except your hands to do the job. He admires your dexterity (and the warmth you give/take every time you push against him).

On days where you use free will, you sit on top of counters and tables for shits and giggles.

Cabrizzio worries a bit when this happens. He isn’t exactly built to carry humans like couches and chairs. As he feels you shift on top of him though, it feels as if you trust him enough to keep lifted. Cabrizzo supposes this is why he has a six pack— to carry cute homeowners like you.

Abel straight up sweats, hoping you won’t hurt yourself! Gosh. He’s a table, not a gosh-darn chair. Despite the obvious issue, your weight on him actually feels comforting. And while he understands gliding your fingers across him helps you think, he’d rather you… not. It just sends a shiver down his spine!

For smaller items, they would think you can’t possible fluster them, yet you managed to prove them wrong.

Tony feels goosebumps cover his arms as you mouth a screwdriver, tinkering the breaker box. Since the og!homeowner left the house in a disarray, you’ve been keeping up with maintenance to not let that situation repeat again. As a result, the tool box is glued to your side. Tony acts like your lips don’t faze him— only to stutter out a groan as you suddenly bite down on the screwdriver. (You were getting frustrated.) Fucking hell. Tony shudders, the sharpness of your teeth nibbling his neck. You’re going to kill him at this point.

Penolope squealed the first time you dragged a pen to your lips. You were taking notes from the computer. The more engrossed you became, the more you fidgeted. Deeply concentrating, you brought the pen to your lips. Not biting down, but dragging it back and forth against your lips. Nowadays, she can usually tell when you’re going to repeat this unique quirk again, but that does not mean she’s any less affected. Though… after a while, the sensation is rather… addictive… to say the least.

Chance is in the same boat as Penolope. Except you’re more prone to tossing him back and forth between your hands. On the days that doesn’t happen however… the man would practically burst into flames. You’d draw circles across his sides at an excruciating slow pace. Back and forth. Switch to a different side. Repeat. By the you shut off the computer and exit the workroom for the day, Chance is left to compose himself at how bothered he is. You’re such a tease.

The objects are unsure of what to think of you, as— unlike the og!homeowner— they know nothing! Do you have siblings? How do you like your coffee made? So many questions and some are afraid you’ll turn out just like the og!homeowner.

When you officially move in however, they realize their concerns were for naut. The moment your name was signed on the paper, the door slammed opened, revealing your guardians/parents. The house was used to quiet and stillness. After all, the og!homeowner isolated themselves due to the datevatiors and were’t a very sociable person in general.

So suddenly having guests over, startled the objects to a high degree.

Shelley was practically hooting and hollering. Her shelves began to warp and become loose due to natural wearing. You’d asked your guardian to teach/help you fix them. Shelly wants to give you a bear hug!

Mac felt like they could breathe lighter. You figured out how outdated their system was, immediately updating them. You also deleted the 50k fanfiction of the og!owner. (They laughed when your curiosity got the best of you and you began to read it. You didn’t make it past three paragraphs.)

Koa indeed took comfort within the silence. But won’t deny that being used by many people felt… nice. You even complimented how soft his cushions were, patting the arm of the couch (aka his arm). He couldn’t help but feel bashful.

The sudden visits didn’t stop there though. Later in the week, you invited any nearby friends for a welcoming party and they all showed up!

Beverly thrived as she finally had a purpose other than serving a single (unappreciative) person. You also whipped out the most vicious, creative cocktails! She’s taking notes.

Daisuke was concerned about the amount of delicate plates/cups being used. However, he watches as you lightly scold everyone to not ‘fuck up’ and drop the plates. He finally lets himself relax, a chuckle slipping out seeing your rather stern expression.

Mitchell taps his pen against his notebook, looking at all of the food being displayed on top of Abel. While inviting your friends, he overheard you ask for each person to bring something for a huge potluck. The different aromas and textures of the food complimented each other nicely. He nods: rating the potluck an 9/10 (Deducted points for one person lugging in store-brought food. Unbelievable!).

Dateables who typically aren’t involved in social gathers even caught sneak peeks of your real personality. You noticed one of your friends didn’t look very well, so you asked them to head upstairs if they needed a break. Sooner or later, you snuck away from the main group, only to find your friend hiding away in the dark storage closet.

They opened up about relationship issues: feeling like they’re pulling away from each other. You continued to listen and comfort them, despite sitting in such a cramped space.

“Well… maybe actually sitting them down to have a proper conversation could help?” You suggested, patting their back with a soft smile. “I know it’s scary to talk about these things. But something has to change, otherwise… things will continue to fall apart. At that point, it’s too late. And you’ll wish you did something earlier.”

At the end of the conversation, you hugged your friend tight, never judging nor criticizing them once.

Eddie is hurting. Badly. The faulty wire is continuing to knock power in and out of the house. Yet, he’s lucid enough to hear your advice. It wasn’t directly to him, but he understood the seriousness of your tone. He wonders: if you learned about him and what’s actually happening to the power, would you say the same thing?

Volt is struggling. Badly. He took over the main base of the electricity to give his lover a break. He knew it wouldn’t be easy, but damn it hurts. Your conversation drifts in his ear and out the other. The man laughs bitterly. Change, huh? If you managed to find the dateviators, he hopes you’ll keep the same comforting energy after you face him.

Dorian nods his head. He understands perfectly where you’re coming from. Whether the change is welcomed or not, sometimes it’s very necessary. Maybe this new owner isn’t that bad… but he’ll continue to observe you— not wanting a repeating incident from the og!homeowner.

A week after the party ended, one of your friends asked a favor: to baby sit their kid. For or a day or two give-or-take. You absolutely had no issue this (and the dateables are wondering how truly nice humans can be). Now, there’s a small boy— no less than six-years old— squealing around the house. Furthermore, once it was bath time, it felt like a second house party all over again.

Bathsheba hummed in contempt, watching the child eagerly splash within the tub. She sees you and the boy blow bubbles into the air and onto each other. It was messy. Maybe quite icky. But the bright grins on the top of your faces was endearing. Fine. She’ll allow this for now.

River made sure the water was at the perfect temperature. Never too hot, never too cold. She decided to ignore the splashes of water against the floor. It’s been… some time since the she’s seen such lively within her domain.

Amir wished he was a camera. If so, he’ll be able to commemorate this moment forever. How adorable! Your t-shirt is soaked and arms are covered in soapy residue. Despite the soiled appearance, he admits you still look enchanting as ever. The kid you’re babysitting is quite the charmer too!

Many things have changed since you moved in, but— oddly enough— the objects didn’t mind. Your habits, hobbies, and social life is significantly different than the og!homeowner. Yet, you’ve shown so much kindness in the short time living here.

According to Skylar, the dateables can experience emotions like hope, excitement, and even love— mimicking what a human feels. However. This also means they can experience anxiety, anger, fear… and heartbreak.

When the og!homeowner discovered the dateviators, they acted normal. Then something flipped. Their words became sharp as staggers. Actions becoming rough and aggressive, resulting in a few dateables being damaged. The og!homeowner toyed with them, only to discard their feelings and leave in the end.

Nevertheless, you moved in as the new homeowner. The dateables expected the same from you. Instead, they’re met with soft touches and gentle murmurs against their skin. It didn’t take long to realize you’re nothing like the og!homeowner.

Rainey isn’t dancing alone anymore. Her broken record has driven many people away. Now her usual empty hands are intertwined with yours, as the both of you spin around the kitchen. You giggle. Rainey laughs. She wonders if human hands are always this warm.

The og!homeowner moves out of their house due to classified reasons and sell it for cheap. Ofc, seeing the opportunity to spend less money, you wanted to immediately buy the property. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy. You still have to sort through finances, tour the house, have your real estate agent help you w/ there process blah blah blah.

Back to the dateables, some of them are fidgeting at the prospect of someone… new… permanently living with them. It felt easy with the og!homeowner since they’ve lived their entire life there. Plus, as items, they basically knew all their habits, personality, etc! If a new person moves in, they don’t know jack crap abt them! Other objects are rather cool with it. Anyone is better than the og!homeowner.

So imagine outside the door, your real estate introduce themselves to the og!homeowner (who is still living there). Eventually, the og!homeowner makes a welcoming gesture.

Then you walk in.

Safe to say, for the rest of the house tour, you felt many eyes on you. You shiver.

Part 2

OR ALTERNATIVELY. Dateables reacting to your resting bitch face LOLOLOLOL

Your face remains rather neutral for the tour. The real estate agent did most of the questioning and open admiring. They often glanced in your direction, trying very hard to make sure this house appeals to you. Once again, your expression never moves: a small frown and eyes remaining half lidded. Almost as if you weren’t impressed. Judging.

You’re left behind in the kitchen with the og!homeowner and agent wanting to move upstairs. The objects watch as you scan the vicinity. You move to the dining, spinning in place to (what the dateables assumed) criticize the house.

What they weren’t expecting, is a soft smile to blossom on your lips. Your eyes land on the candle on the table. Ever so gently, you pick it up, thumbing the rim.

“A beautiful house, isn’t it?”

…Maybe this new owner wouldn’t be so bad after all.

And I hope you don't mind me giving small headcanons of my own to this 👉👈🥺(not a request, just a rant cuz I speanded a lot of time think obout it lmao)

First of all, Scandalabra is having a field day, the amont of family drama he gets to hear over the dinner table? AND THEN YOU'R FRIENDS COME OVER TO TALK ABOUT THEIR DRAMA?! He died, he died and went to haven. It dosn't matter that he dosn't know most of the people he hears about, the tea is juicy and he's loving it. And so is Reggie, Curt and Rod hearing all our shit-talk.

Rebel want's to hide it from the other objest but they berely fight off the smile on they'r face when theres a bathtime for the kid we babysit. They don't remember the last time some had this much fun playing with them.

Parker also has the same feeling when he's finally taken out of the attic to be played in a larger group then 2 players, he's extatic he almost didn't mind some of you'r friends trying to cheat, almost, luckily you told them off whenever you could, whitch earned you 5 more browney points from Parker.

Prissy, Lady Memoria and Artt are extatic when you decide to decorate the the house with plants, paintings and you'r old photos.(Wallace never felt so pretty🤗)

And lastly all the objects that ware somehow broken or not working properly get fixed, We even fixed Johhnys rusty pipe, making he's singing voice much better whitch he's very thankfull for (and so are the rest of the objects). Tony is also content with how well we handle his tools.

Also I thought of this funny thing with Diana when our friends are over and we talk about our experience with the previos homeowner "Yeah I bouth this house pretty cheap, kidna weird science they even left all of their electronicks. Maybe they wanted to get rid of the hause as quick as possible. They we're a little weird and kind of a bitch tho. Firstly, to add Diana’s part— what you describe is basically how you acquired the Dateviators in the first place. When reading diary entries to your friends, you purposely skipped a page.

It’s one that described these ‘magical spectacles’ which granted them friends and potential lovers. You honestly thought the og!homeowner was high or on something. So, after saying goodbye to your friends, you search for these glasses and eventually find them. Do you wear them?

Hell no. Instead, you and your sweet ass went straight to bed, managing to forget all about it until a certain someone uses it instead…

Secondly. I AM SO INCREDIBLY FLATTERED RN BECAUSE???? You basically created a part 2 for me with this au????? I’m flabbergasted in such a good way omg🥹 brings tears to my eyes that yall enjoy this au sm to the point you create your own ideas— I’m crying frfr,, literally going to post this link as a part 2 so ppl can read this masterpiece.

But enemies to lovers with Volt is yummy.

It doesn’t matter if fixed the faulty wire from the goodness of your heart. Volt doesn’t care. He made it clear upon your first meeting. His skin charging into an electric blue at the slightest displeasure from you. The scars og!homeowner left still ignites a fury in him that he can’t control. Even if he sees you helping objects around the house, he can’t risk it.

He can’t risk Eddie being hurt again.

This Volt throws away the facade. For others, he continues his charming persona, only turn around and spit venom to you. Under the darkened lights, you two often get into fights— more on Volt’s side than yours— sometimes even escalating to small, physical battles. He ‘accidentally’ hits your shoulder a little too hard? You’ll ’accidentally’ stomp on his shoe in return.

A silent tug of war. Pushing and pulling with no real goal in mind. Remember, Volt is only doing this for Eddie.

So ignore the way he looks at you when you’re dancing on the floor. Ignore how your drinks are always perfectly made, despite him placing it down and scoffing every time. Ignore his twitching hands when an object touches you with want. And most importantly? Stay silent if you fall asleep in the VIP booth, just to wake up with Volt’s jacket draped across your form.

It’s bad. Unfortunately Reader is broke in this so a win is a win. The house just needs a little TLC🫶🏼🥹. I actually have a fic in the works about the Reader being involved in helping the objects! Reader is going to get a headache though, because the moment they fix one problem, another one pops up.
