“Tides and Smiles for Miles”
As a working student, life can sometimes feel like an endless cycle of work, study, eat, sleep, and repeat. There are moments when the stress builds up so much that I just want to escape, even just for a day. And for me, there’s no better escape than being by the sea. The sound of the waves, the feel of the breeze, and the calmness of the water have this special way of clearing my mind and easing the heaviness I carry every day.
One of my favorite beach memories happened back in 2023 when my family and I went to Cavite for a simple outing. It wasn’t anything luxurious, but it was full of laughter, smiles, and genuine happiness. We spent the day playing in the water, taking photos, and just enjoying each other’s company. It reminded me how important it is to slow down and spend time with the people who truly matter. My family has always been my safe space no matter how chaotic life gets; they’re the ones I can count on to lift my mood and help me recharge. That day, all my stress from work and school disappeared, even if just for a while. It showed me that sometimes, all you need is fresh air, the sound of the sea, and the people who love you.
Then in 2024, I had another unforgettable beach moment, this time with my closest friends and loved ones. We watched the sunset together, laughed over silly things, and shared real conversations. I felt free to be myself, no pretending, no pressure. It made me realize that real friends aren’t many, but the ones who stick around through your highs and lows are the ones who truly matter. Being with them by the sea felt so refreshing. It was as if every wave carried away the worries I’d been holding on to.
The beach has this healing power that I can’t fully explain. Every time I’m there whether with family, friends, or just by myself, it gives me the space to breathe, reflect, and find my balance again. Life may be tiring, but the sea, the sand, and the smiles I share with the people I trust always bring me back to life. That’s why I say tides and smiles for miles because no matter how rough life gets, I know the sea, and the people who matter, will always help me find my calm again.
