A mesmerising display of bioluminescence or ‘Sea Sparkle’ along the Sapphire Coast, New South Wales, Australia. . This amazing phenomenon is caused by "Noctiluca scintillans", a free-living, marine-dwelling species of dinoflagellate(an algae). . Its bioluminescence is produced by a reaction between two chemicals named luciferin and luciferase. This reaction occurs in a subunit of its cell called as scintillons. . 📷 Credits: @davey_rogers .
