I am looking for readers; I’ve just finished a guidebook for a Tarot deck, an ocean-based Tarot dealing with Daoist mysticism and the folklore of ancient Chinese pirates.
The challenge I set out for myself was: could someone—who knows nothing about Daoism, Chinese pirates or the myths of the sea—still be able to use the deck when they were done reading the text? That’s what I don’t know. That’s what I am hoping to find out.

As someone just asked, this is still in the rough draft phase. In the past I would make cards simply for the thrill of being creative and the results were... confusing to other people. This time I wanted to try it the other way around and come up with the symbolism/ meanings behind each card first—and if they made sense *then* work on the art. It’s a long process with lots of moving parts, regardless.
Sea Magic spell pouch
I had a bit of time so I decided to make my sea magic pouch after all. Thought of including beach sand at first but ultimately decided against it. Since it's meant to be a portable version of the sea magic jar it's got a lot of the same components, but more minimal:
