and i finally figured out how to put my thoughts into words.
I think the fact that you can only romance lance once you've at least gone to ginger island is interesting. Usually, when I see people play stardew, they very immediately run to their chosen candidate, needy, desperate, lonely... you know.
But, with Lance, it's like the mod creator is telling you. Hey now. this one here, Lance? yeah he's extra special. ya gotta work for him.
It's also a good way of forcing the farmer (me) to actually get some damn progress in the community center so I can meet the husband. the game is PROHIBITING co-dependency. That is, if you marry Lance.
You're forced to develop yourself as a person first, which makes a lot of sense to me because, prior to meeting you, LANCE HAS ALREADY GOT HIS SHIT TOGETHER.
