I dislike when people infantilize N, acting like he’s a still little baby who knows nothing and is a doormat when he literally had an entire arc about that.
At the start he’s easily pushed around, and he’s obviously a little naive, but over time, he starts to make his own decisions. And when push comes to shove, he has the ability to hurt people and stand up for those he cares for; he decapitated what he believed was one of his closest friends (Tessa) when she was about to kill Uzi. That takes a spine. That takes guts. And yet a lot of the fandom brings him back to square one.
I’m not saying all people who show N as a little naive golden retriever are wrong; he is generally friendly, and I do love his soft personality, but just because a character is soft or a little naive doesn’t mean that they’re incompetent or childish.
The amount of fics I’ve read where post episode 8 N just doesn’t know anything or can’t do anything for himself, like he didn’t just fight robo-satan that’s also his sister wearing his best friend’s skin. PLEASE BRO. He’s not stupid, he’s just soft and has PTSD and whimsy that doesn’t make him an idiot.
