Day 13 of #MarchMeetTheMaker is how I learnt. . đŠđťâđť - I learnt to #crossstitch at a #ScriptureUnion girls only #SummerCamp not long before I turned 13. It was one of the evening activities - we stitched our initial onto a bookmark. I wish I still had the bookmark, but itâs been lost in the many years since. Many months later, @philipacore (Mum) was cross stitching some mini Christmas ornaments and I said âI know how to do thatâ and promptly stitched up several. Those we still have (but theyâre buried in the Christmas box and iâm not digging them out!). And I havenât stopped stitching since! I eventually inherited all of mumâs cross stitch supplies when she decided quilting was more fun. . I taught Gavin đ§đť to stitch about 4 years ago when he wanted to stitch a little pug dog for his now ex-girlfriend. He stitched a few of my other designs (That 70s Show? Rocky Horror, and Mythbusters) before learning to design his own patterns. . I have vague memories of trying to teach Stephen đ§ââď¸ to stitch when he was about 5 - a little pink pig. It didnât stick at the time. I donât think he remembers that though. Stephen decided to learn to cross stitch while helping me at Oz Comic Con about 3 years ago, as a way to keep him behind the stall and stop spending money! The first thing he stitched was an #XWing key ring. The first pattern he designed (and the next thing he stitched) was #CriticalRile, when it was announced that two of the players/guests/stars were going to be at #Supanova a couple of years ago. ... #fangirlstitches #embroidery #needlework #handmade #learningprocess https://www.instagram.com/fangirlstitches/p/Bu8glKngaUB/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1wxh3ydosw2dk
