At Joan’s “Ex party” Lynn wears a maxi skirt by Marc Jacobs. The skirt in the comparison photo is a slightly lighter brown but still has the same floral patterned accents.

Marc Jacobs can do no wrong in my book, neither can Stacy Beverly (the costume designer for girlfriends for majority of the shows run).

To the opening of the J Spot, Maya (now a published authoress) wears a dress by marc jacobs. This was featured on the runway as a part of the S/S 2004 Collection.

This dress may look familiar as it was also worn by Rachel Bilson in the O.C. 2x05 as Summer’s dress to the SnO.C/the winter dance.

In the 5x08. BTW is the one where she orders a kangaroo, Joan has a heart arrhythmia, We are introduced to the show ambush and Joan pulls a spider-man…. So many great moments.

Anyway, Lynn carries a bag from the L.A.M.B by Gwen Stefani x Lesportsac collab. This seems to be the mini barrel bag, but i couldn’t find any in the same variant, so the comparisons at the top of this post are not exact matches!

Below is one which is an exact match in a different style (the backstage bag.) Hers seems to be the muted pink /red/black rather than white/red/green/yellow.

She also carries this bag when she goes with her biological father to the paramount studio tour in 5x09 and then later to Toni’s baby shower in 5x19

Fun Fact: The tote bag in the white/multi print was also carried by Marissa Cooper in various episodes of the O.C. season 2! (pictured below in 2x03 and 2x20)

This dress Dee wears to the club seems to be a tunic/blouse/mini dress from Mango.

I did not realise Mango was available in the USA today, let alone in 2007/2008, but according to my research their first USA stores opened in New York and California in 2006. And sure it makes sense because other European retailers like Zara and H&M were/are popular.

And IASIP split/splits filming and production between Philly and… California

TV shows like Gossip Girl would match high end bags/shoes with Zara blouses and french toast skirts. Or famously have Blair Waldorf wear a H&M dress and a Marc Jacobs dress in the same episode (yes in the flashback to thanksgiving before serena went to boarding school blair wears a h&m dress - and serena wears forever 21 lol!)*

I was originally thinking this could be a situation like the coat Summer wore in the O.C 2x14, where multiple brands had made coats with the same fabric - and that could still be the case!

But the pattern and details on this one are identical so i’m calling it a match. Especially the area where the sleeves connect to the main torso section, you can see where the seams line up to the pattern.

In multiple Girlfriends season 2 episodes, Lynn wears a cherry dress by Marc Jacobs.

This is in the episodes “you better watch out” whilst decorating joan’s house for christmas and “willie or won’t he ii: the final chapter” when attending Yvonne’s wedding shower.

Her fashion in S2 does have a period where she wears primarily long sleeves with maxi skirts or trousers in a darker color palette. This is a clear departure from that.

Also considering Lynn is living in Mayas Mom’s garage at this point how did she get a Marc Jacobs dress? Although maybe she managed to get it via Joan or Toni?

In the episode titled…. 🎶Mr F🎶….. Rita (portrayed by Charlize Theron) wears a silk blazer by Juicy Couture.

I have actually had this one IDed in the drafts of my blogspot from 2022-2023 but for some reason never posted jt? but now since i’m using this page more often I probably should start posting those drafts here!

This is quite a fun and fitting choice - Rita (although played by a South African actress) is a British character and Juicy Couture’s non tracksuit clothing drew some inspiration from British fashion/imagery: the tartan or argyle knit pieces, scottie dogs, rugby style polo shirts and even at one point using imagery of queen elizabeth ii on shirts (obligatory fuck the royals)

Catherine wears a knit tank by Missoni. The stripes all line up, but the ruffled/ scalloped bottom of the piece is tucked into her pants.

Obligatory mention that this top is part of the outfit she wears when Catherine and Warrick talk about his marriage & acknowledging that there was some sort of crush there.
